Greenhouse? I'm still trying to understand how greenhouse would be a better alternative here in Nigeria for now. Oga mi, all the greenhouses I know don shutdown. The last one that refused to shutdown and kept operating even when it was evident he was running at a loss, finally succumbed to robber. They came stole all the equipments, especially the pump. He was just weeping like a baby.

Nevertheless, I am yet to see someone convince me greenhouse would put more money in my pocket.

I recently acquired an acre (6plots) land in Ogun state, lusada axis to be precise. I have been thinking of what to do with it, or rather, what aspect of farming I should use it for . Nevertheless, first thing first, the land needs to be secured and prepared for whatever crop farming i intend using if for.

Kindly join me as I take you through the process of setting up my this new farm of mine from scratch. Suggestions are highly welcomed.

Whatever you intend to plant, don't forget to intercrop with plantains. That should also fetch you a decent amount of money asides the main crop.

I did think of Ugu planting after I got a free pod some days back, but in all honesty, I need something that wouldn't require my presence that much on the farm. I am presently occupied with vegetables on another and it's already taking a toll on me.

For okro? Taaaaaa... I so much hate it ehn. Wouldn't even venture into it if billions dey am. Gbam!!!!

Why not look for land within Epe axis... and if you ask me why? It's more closer to Lagos (general/open) markets of the likes of Mile 12, Ketu, etc where you can easily sell your produce from the farm upon harvest at very good prices than any other places. And if you choose to sell in a custom markets ( which includes super markets, groceries stores Or even directly to consumers) for a better pricing options, you'll have the large population of Lagos to thank for that

Finally, I have been expecting them. . Just as I was updating here, 3 bikes rode in with 2 guys on each. I just smiles because i know what's going to happen next. The over zealous one among them just went straight to the bricklayer to cease his tools, shouting who gave you guys permission to work here. Una don pay? U na never settle boys!!! Who be the engineer on site....blah blah blah....Me just sidon dey sip my American Cola from the shelter I was. .

I could see the bricklayer and his boy pointing towards my direction telling them na the Oga b dat. I just jejely continued sipping my cola drink which was already hot sef

Nevertheless, work is moving on smoothly. Every stakeholder in the community as waded into the matter and pleaded with me not to escalate the issue beyond what has happened in these past weeks.

Nawa o. Those touts shew us sege back then... fencing foundation, u go pay, main building foundation u go pay, roofing/decking u go pay, u wan dig borehole u go pay. it can get complicated if those touts have factions...diff factions will be showing up differently to collect entitlement.
So no enforcement yet, i knew when the Lagos HOA was passing the bill into law so i thought Ogun being a lagos satellite state will follow suit. abeg thread carefully with them, they used to be armed with both dangerous and fetish weapon in those days.

How new are u to the area?

Ogami, experience has told me never to buy land in any community if i have not spent 5 years engaging in active economic activity in dat area

Omo onile get sizes for everybody o! MANY are abroad waiting for active development to come to their community before they show up

Even Baale and Oba dey scam people on land matters

If you successfully fence the acre, i will advice you to sell like 3 plots in 5 years time to recover your capital
