I no understand you, I processed my passport this year around March. I did it myself just going through the procedure listed by the immigration services (NIS) and I got my passport reproduced within 6 to 8 weeks though on their website it's 6 weeks. I payed a total of 73 thousand naira, 70k was for the 10yr validity fee while the rest was ATM charges

It's easier now, I have been patronizing those crooks from NIS for a long time but decided this time I won't give any one a dime
Yes it was about eight weeks before until I tried it. I paid around N36,400 for the 5 yrs!

It's now three months plus!

Some of you think having a passport means relocating from Nigeria, if you are a serious professional you will have your passport ready at all times because duty can take you out of your vicinity with little notice time.
Please could you State the steps you took to do it yourself?

How dumb can these ambassadors be? If they can make such dumb statements to us locals what dumb statements are they making to the foreigners? And we wonder why foreigners are exploiting us. Did anyone ever say the fee increase was to prevent citizens from leaving? Raising the fee from N35K to N50K or N70K to N100K is not up to 50% increase but yet the headline screams 100% increase and the ambassador says almost 100% increase. Country desperately needs a coup ... most politicians be imprisoned or executed.

1. Enter their website , choose if you are doing in from Nigeria or overseas
https://passport.immigration.gov.ng/

2. Confirm your NIN details on the website if good proceed if not go to NIN office to make rectification before coming back to the website to proceed

3. Fill all the details requested, for renewal the details isn't much but for new passport I guess more will be requested. This stage took less than 20 minutes to complete

4. Pay the required fee depending on validity of your passport, 10years 70k while 5 years 35k.

5. Print the documents issued after payment and photocopy of old passport and book a date on the website that is convenient for submitting your documents at any NIS office of your choice as depicted on your booking.

6. Use your reference number and your application number to login and track your progress, once it's time to do capture you will know from your online Portal. It's seamless

Some people paid 120k for NIS officials to do this for them but the procedure seems fo easy that will be done within minutes before you interface with NIS . After 1st September I guess that feels will hit 200k for those who want others do it for them.

Apparently, every policy, measure and action of Tinubu led administration seems to cause more harm than good for the masses.

Purpose of governance is being defeated day in day out since 29th of May, 2023.

Please what's the meaning of TINUBU?

I am still saying it, the best thing you can do for yourself and children wether born or unborn is to Japa from Nigeria. Time will come to travel out will be a big problem..

I'll rather die than raised my children in Nigeria. All the suffering I'm going through today is for them not to suffer. JAPA if you can.
Japa if you want to japa but don't japa bc of children. It is a wrong reasoning.

This former ambassador was so dull.

How could Government stop Japa by increasing the cost of passport.m?. Nigerians will pay any amount to get out of the country. Does he even know the millions Nigerians pay to the so called visa agent?

He’s just sounding to be political correct.
how is NIS sounding with this?

The Nigeria Immigration Service recently announced that a 100 per cent price increment for the passport would begin on September 1, 2024 to ensure the quality and integrity of the Nigerian Standard Passport system.
how will increasing cost of passport ensure the highlighted?

Visa fee hike by various embassies and other stringent visa approval conditions didn't stop japa . . .Wetin concern a highly frustrated and very determined Naija person with passport fee hike? huh

Re: Passport Fee Hike Won’t Stop Japa – Ex-Envoys by nairalanda1(m): 11:17am On Aug 25, 2024
No it won't. It was raised to pay for the rise in production costs, not to stop jakpa

Immigration would even be happier if more people get a passport. More income , more income.

That sounds too personal, I think it's just a demand and supply principle, the higher the demand, the higher the price. An hungry person will not apply for international passport. Nigeria is bad and Nigerians are using it's resources to Japa, to extent of running a whole bank down. All those students enjoying NELFUND will still graduate, jaapa and label Nigeria shithole.

Nigerians should appreciate Nigeria a bit, home is always home.

All the best to those who have left.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria 🇳🇬.

You are to blame bro. How can you fall cheaply to people like this who claim to have fixed match? Lesson learnt I guess. Forget about the money, it's gone.

Rather than the government make Nigeria better, they are using opportunity of japa to exploit Nigerians who apply for Nigeria passport by increasing the price.
Bad government.

This is a very dumb news

If you can pay for expensive Airfares, school fees, upfront house rents, insurance, etc. then passport fee increment is definitely not a problem.

Raising money by milking the populace anyhow possible is the main motivation for the increase and has nothing to do with stopping of Japa.

Instead of us to critic crazy extortionists policies, we always choose to discuss unnecessary distractions.
.my tota exactly....passport increase is necessary to maintain standards.Na rich man dey japa not poor person.D poor use drivers licence for ID not passport
