I want to ask. What is the use of these pipelines? Is it dat, if the pipelines are functioning, we wont have all these big tankers on our roads again? |

Crude way of thinking of crude: 1.7m barrels a day * $84 = $142,800,000 daily = $4.3b monthly, and $51.4b yearly In naira at $1 to N1,500, that's N77 trillion a year. 2024 budget protected expenditure of N27.5 trillion, against an expected revenue of N18 trillion, meaning a deficit of N9 trillion. So if our "crude" calculation of crude with an output of 1.7 million barrels at an international crude price of $84 equals N77 trillion, how come our total revenue (both crude and non-crude) is a paltry N18 trillion? Assuming our entire expected revenue is oil-based alone, where's the N59 trillion going? Why's 77% of the total crude output revenue going somewhere? |

Love800:I am not surprised that you don't understand what public water supply system is. The new generation of Nigerians have been made by Nigeria's government to see private water boreholes as means of public water supply system. The new generation of Nigerians don't know that government lays pipe for treated running water for citizens. Worse is APC governments at the federal and state levels. Who has heard APC government talk about suppling treated running water to any city in Nigeria? |

During military rule, Nigeria problem was not money but how to spend it. Now that we are in a "Democracy," Nigeria lacks money to do anything.. Politicians we hail thee. |

villagereporter:You forgot that the pipelines were built so many years ago. The deterioration has been going on but successive governments never thought of replacement. They concentrated on presenting themselves as doing good by satisfyingly immediate consumption. Now the neglect of past years has caught up with us. This is what is happening to your economy. You neglected your today in yesterday and if you do nothing now you will neglect your tomorrow today. |

agrowell:Crude pipelines have nothing to do with refinery. It has to do with export of crude. |
