But what was the charge against him? undecided
Security agencies can approach the court for an order to detain a suspect under investigation beyond 24hrs especially a suspect which high possibility of running away (Pidomn tried to hide under anonymity and described himself as a breeze).

You people are wasting your time, kobojunkie likes to argue even when she is wrong, especially when she is wrong actually that is when she will double down.

Imagine her suggesting someone can't be arrested and put into custody before the case comes to court, something that happens even in the same America that she lives in.

Over there, some have bail set, some have bail denied, mostly depending on flight risk. They set bail for Nnamdi Kanu the other time, what did he do? Isn't that why they haven't even bothered to allow him out of Kuje this time.

Don't let kobojunkie fool you, she is admittedly smart enough to have an argument about anything but she isn't well versed in most of those topics she argues about.

Do you even know your laws, let alone your rights as a citizen of Nigeria? The allegations against him — allegations made known by the Nigerian Police Force through their spokesperson — do not warrant an arrest of any kind.
Section 32(2) of the Nigerians Police Act 2020 & Section 8(2)of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 clearly states that a person shall not be arrested merely for a civil wrong or a breach of contract.
Section 32(1) of the same Nigerians Police Act 2020 & Section8(3) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 insists that an offense has to be established by an act of the National Assembly or under any other Law before a suspect or defendant can be alleged or charged with committing said offense. Only after that can the person be investigated and tried or dealt with following the provisions of the Nigerian Police Act 2020 & Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 (except otherwise provided in the same Act).

According to Muyiwa Adejobi, the Nigerian Police Spokesperson, PIDOM was arrested on charges of Whistleblowing and if you are familiar with Nigeria Law, you would know that Whistleblowers are instead protected, not criminalized by even Nigerian laws. Yes, the ICPC in fact is part of the protection formed around protecting Whistleblowers in Nigeria. undecided
The Police spokesperson said PIDOM was arrested on 5th of August.
He added that operations of PIDOM was undermining integrity of government operations.
A statement on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi explained: “In a well-coordinated effort, officials from the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre (NPF-NCCC) apprehended Bristol Isaac Tamunobiefiri, also known as PIDOM, on allegations of committing serious offenses that undermine the integrity of government operations. The arrest took place on August 5, 2024, in his hotel room Rivers State.
“There are several allegations levelled against the suspect, including unlawful possession, leakages of classified documents, cyber related offences, and others. We will do due diligence in carrying out thorough investigation into the cases.
“The force will leave no stone unturned to continually enforce the law and bequeath to Nigerians a more secure nation.”

This non-criminal offense does not warrant an arrest of any kind as an arrest would violate
Section 32(1) and Section 32(2) stated above of the Nigerian Police Act of 2020 ,
Sections 8(2) & Sections 8(3) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015,
▶ as well as Section 35(1) of the Nigerian Constitution.
So tell us, what court would give a warrant for arrest in a non-criminal situation? undecided

The police never said an arrest warrant was obtained before his arrest, so why make these baseless assertions given the facts that have already been revealed so far by the Nigerian Police Force? undecided

■ Your right ends when the law enforcement agents are settled to keep you silenced. The more you make claim over your rights, the more serious your charges become.
↪Do you know what a right is? A Right is a freedom you are willing to die fighting for. So many Nigerians, a majority of them too afraid to fight for their right, still ended up dead anyway at the hands of those who disregarded their right as human beings. So why would you think it better to die the same way they did, to have your lights snuffed out like them without even a fight? undecided

↪ Computer fraud
↪and Whistle blowing
Computer fraud is only a crime if proven. But according to Muyiwa Adejobi, the Police Force Spokesperson, as of Saturday, August 24th, 2024, the Force is still investigating the allegations of computer fraud— the police has yet to land evidence to prove the allegations. undecided

2. Whistleblowing is not a crime. Whistleblowers are covered by the Freedom of Information Act 2011 as well as the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000. undecided

Initially, I followed him. Then:

(1) He accused a first-class king of fraudulent activities and published whatsapp chats between the king and one lady. Did he ever reach out to the king to ask for his own side of the story? Perhaps he did, or did not. But he rushed to publish and was issuing threats. You have no right to release someone's chats to the public as a third-party. It is illegal. Then making accusations on that scale? Haba!

(2) He released an accusation that the son of Babagana Zulum murdered someone and was beating his chest that it was true. If it was a lie, defamation on that scale is criminal. What does the law say?

(3) During the protest, he called for 2 million Nigerians to take over Aso Rock. While he was doing this, Omoyele Sowore who was motivating them was away in the US. The call falls within the domain of a call for an insurrection and anarchy.

(4) In one of his posts, he called for the military to take over government. When I analyzed the demands of the protesters, I correctly identified that some of those requests bordered on regime change. Some armchair analysts said I was lying. Didn't some misguided people call for regime change within three days of my interpretation of their demands?

In this administration, those against the government are saying the government must free criminals, irrespective of the crimes they committed. Even when the NLC president was invited to come and explain his links with the dude associated with alleged terrorism financing who occupied the 2nd floor of the NLC building, some Nigerians started abusing the police and accusing them of witchhunt. They said they could not kill terrorists or arrest Yahaya Bello or find the kidnapped 20 medical students. They excuse one bad behaviour for the other. They don't know that terrorists are being killed daily and our gallants security forces are also killed daily, as they try to keep us safe. They have no empathy. They feel everything is witchhunt.

For those who abuse the police and army daily, let us imagine a social experiment, where the police and army are withdrawn for three days and people are given a free run to do anything they like, commit any crime they want without punishment!

How many of you will come out of your house and not live in fear for those three days?
Shuuu!
Na so the story long
