In 2012, Tinubu, then in opposition and for thoroughly selfish political reasons, led protests against a sitting government. He wasn't demonized and it was called PATRIOTISM. In 2024, Tinubu is now in power. His government is far, far worse than the government he led protests against. Hunger, inflation, insecurity and corruption on a scale never seen before in Nigeria is now the norm. Yet when the masses come out, for legitimate reasons, to cry about the hardship brought about by 'Tinubunonics', they are called TRAITORS and words like 'TREASON' and 'SABOTAGE' are used. A Yoruba adage, roughly translated, says "the murderer will not allow anyone pass his back with a knife." |

Thank God no Igbo name is there, we did our own protest in a peaceful and constitutional manner which was a preventive method using the ballot.... We won't be knacking our head on stone for people who refuse to drop tribalism and religion over common sense |

While kidnappers and bandits show their faces on live streaming without arrest, protesters are called terrorist. Well, the good thing is that you will all retire and get the same treatment. |

Hope you have food and clothes for them? You can't tell us Boko Haram boys have repented but remind ordinary protesters in cell... Since 2015, Nigeria has been undergoing different kinds of curses from APC but it shall always return to them that formed this evil party...Amen |

They went overboard with that Russian flag . Whoever conscripted them into it took advantage of their complete ignorance and criminal tendency. It's good that police is taking lawful measures against their alleged crimes. May God bless Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs! |

Those who lost their lives have been forgotten and those whose businesses/homes were looted or destroyed during the mayhem in the name of protest are now on their own trying to figure out a way forward. Lead protests but let the mass followers understand the rules. The law is not suspended because you are protesting. Also, keep in mind that the legal process is not emotional but could be legally manipulated via technicalties. Lastly, law enforcement is not equal opportunity. It's like overspeeding on highways even in America. Many people do it, few are caught. |

It seems that the thing the Nigerian government and public sector hate the most is public embarrassment over specific issues. Meanwhile, the general incompetence that led to those particular issues remains ignored. There is no first-principles thinking. Why is this the case? Are government agencies overwhelmed and ill-equipped or just filled with incompetent people who only care about how they and their bosses will look outside to others? I think it is all of the above, and there is a hierarchy of incompetence. Their ultimate desire is our silence. If social media didn't exist, I assure you that Nigeria would have been much worse off—not that it is that much better, anyway. Government officials don't want their businesses out in public because they also have enemies within their ranks looking for positions. Everything they do is about self-preservation. It is why whistleblowers suffer the worst fate. They need to make an example of them so that people inside will align and fear them. That is the sole reason for their response to social media noise. Maybe we should weaponize this division within their ranks for good and encourage more whistleblowers. Sadly, those who succeed at using leaks to remove the people they want to replace become much worse and even brutal. We have NADECO in power today; they were once protesters. The people who used radio stations and TV have silenced radio stations and TV. Social media is our only hope, and they plan to silence it, too. Let's keep the fire on their asses in the meantime. |

While maintaining public order is important, detaining peaceful protesters for 60 days without due process undermines their constitutional right to free expression and peaceful assembly. Naija which way. |

60 days way too short the court should have make it 365 days to serve at least 1 full year in police custody for them to learn a lesson. Let obi-diot go and free them if he has the power to do so. And I'm happy the way all their sponsorers account frozen they will hear word by force and by Oct 1 they rest not arrested are waiting for another protest the police would arrest more and freezes more accounts shey dem still get money to dey organise protest ba? No wahala. Lock them for 365 days before even taken them to court. Quote me if you like I don't give a fu-ck and that won't make police to release them. Buhari roasted us for 8 years no one protest even thee one I participate in Save Nigeria Movement along side Sowor, Adeyanju, Chary Boy we chop tear-gas like hell same idiots protesting now blamed us and told us who send us? So now I'm saying it too no one send una for a protest if protest not goo during Buhari a fulani North also protest not good for Tinubu a Southern man, na do me I do you e be. |
