A public toilet is the solution plus it's a revenue generator |

These are dirty habits that makes the foreigners think of some NIGERIANs as people with a low sense of reasoning. How can you open your yansh and be defecating in public and non public places. Even digging a hot does not come to your mind. At least a reasonable person will dig a hole and defecate in the bush not in gutter or roadside. |

What the Lagos state government should do to end this menace is to start issuing licences to all beer parlours, pubs, eateries or any store that sell food. Part of the licensing condition is to mandate they all have a functioning toilet, that is clean and useable all the time with soap and water. They also have installed CCTV, and food handling cert. Lagos gov will use the renewable licences issued to generate more revenue, ensure citizens can use toilets, and also enhance food safety across the state. The CCTV recording will also ensure the safety of customers. So in summary, if you want to open any non-mobile food service in Lagos, you must have a working toilet, a food handling cert, CCTV around your premises, and if you will be serving alcohol in the premises, tight private security, which all come with licences. Wholesale alcohol sales will be exempt. Only retail. Part of the conditions are; no sale to those under 18, no sale to drunk and disorderly, and security must be maintained at all times. Only licensed taxis can be called to pick drunk/vulnerable passengers home, and they must have CCTV in their taxis. |
