But Alcohol primarily leads to liver failure.

If someone develops kidney problem without preceding liver failure, it’s most likely not from alcohol.

Let's even agree for a moment that liver problem caused by alcohol leads to kidney disease, it doesn't change the fact that alcohol is the causation.

I know about hepatorenal syndrome. You guys just like to argue on this forum.

I said more likely to cause liver failure than kidney failure. That doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed to never affect the kidneys.

But It’s primarily the liver and it doesn’t always have to end in kidney failure. If this man suffered from alcoholism to the point off kidney failure, he’d have long been sick from liver failure before the kidney transplant.

And I don’t know what transplant laws are applicable where he is, we don’t give kidneys to patients with compromised livers. So he most likely had a healthy liver when he got his transplant. Can’t have a healthy liver with alcoholism. Hence my belief that his kidneys failed for different reasons.

I didn’t say what I said so that I can be on here arguing back and forth. It was just a simple factual statement that didn’t need a rebuttal.

I have a family friend who NEVER SMOKED OR DRINK ALCOHOL but battles kidney failure currently.
