Point of correction. We are not condemning the Yorubas because of Tinubu. We know that not all Yorubas supported him. Even Afenifere found it difficult throwing their weight behind him. That said I think the real story is how the emergence of APC has led to a divided Nigeria so much that there's so much tribal hate and divisiveness. It is no coincidence. The APC is very much culpable.

Unfortunately, that statement was received with glee by a majority of APC supporters both offline and online.

That posture still vibrates today in how successive APC governments have conducted their official business. Nepotism which is totally antithetical to the letters and spirit of the Nigerian constitution is now an entrenched and official policy and the reaction is what we keep seeing.

Unfortunately, it keeps getting worse. This is not the first threat from one ethnic divide to the other. I'm sure this will not be the last. The real danger is when this ethnic mudslinging begins to germinate in the minds of those who will carry such threats out which may cost lives.
