Rohr backs Labbadia to succeed with Super Eagles

Gernot Rohr has backed his compatriot Bruno Labbadia to make an instant impact with the Super Eagles, DAILY POST reports.

Labbadia was named Super Eagles head coach on Tuesday by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

The 58-year-old will be the sixth German to manage the three-time African champions.

Rohr,who was in charge of the Super Eagles between 2016 and 2021 labelled Labbadia a very good coach.

“He’s a very good coach, I hope he’s well treated by the NFF and Nigerian fans,” the 71-year-old was quoted by SCORENigeria.

“He has experience in the Bundesliga, I hope he quickly finds his way in Nigeria, which is a different environment.”

Rohr will come up against Labbadia when Benin Republic face the Super Eagles in a 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie in Uyo on Saturday, September 7.

Invest more in our local leagues especially on smaller divisions
Make it more attractive and accessible to the populace with rigorous and colourful promotions and lots of incentives for viewers.
These automatically breeds better indigenous players and coaches. So we don't have to rely on those bad behave foreign based players and expensive coaches.
Let's build a system rather than seeking quick solution.
Governance shouldn't be this hard na

-We blacks have an inferiority complex in favor of whites.

Aside these, a local coach can perform as well as a foreign one, if not better.

They can't adopt this method because it will pave way for greater success, they rather prefer to continue their corrupt, trial and error methods.

This is what I always clamour for, if we can't hire an home based coach atleast the foreign coach we go for should have good pedigree and fantastic track record. Enough of these labadia and peseiro esque coaches who haven't won anything in their managerial career.

Nigerian coaches always has problems with one or two players in the team which always effect the performance and unity of the team

Keshi after winning AFCON
has a problem with his AFCON hero Sunday which make the player missed WorldCup ,
Eguaveon has problem with Nacho during second leg game against Ghana at home ,
Siasia has a problem with Osas then ,
Oliseh has a problem with Enyema,
Finidi has a problem with Oshime ,
All these problems are avoidable if not for EGO and list continues....

if likes of tinubu or buhari is coach of super Eagle from which tribe will they pick their players?I no like foreign coaches but tribalism in nigeria is alarming even in the church and mosques
