I only responded to the post asking whether discontinuity also happens in America after a change of govt and I tried adducing reasons why it could have happened in the case of the subject.

Lagos State government is trying, but can still do better. The central government led by Senator Bola Tinubu isn't trying at all! Instead of focusing on redeeming the battered image of his administration by providing good governance, which is the primary responsibility, Tinubu is making all efforts to silence oppositions of his maladministrative government and using tax payers money to pay media thugs to assassinate the characters of oppositions.

The trains are used trains Sanwolu purchased in Canada and the news was shared on nairaland when he went for the purchase.

The intercity rail system was first initiated by Governor Bola Tinubu in 2003 under "Lagos Urban Transportation Project". Besides the BRT network, the rail network never took off as it was postponed multiple times by successive governors until Sanwolu.

The first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande, on Tuesday, said that the cancellation of the Lagos metroline project in 1985 was a major mistake and disservice to many Nigerians.

Jakande spoke in Lagos during the launch of a book which chronicled his life in politics and journalism.

The book, entitled, ‘Jakande: Leadership in Action’ is written by Dr. Bola Olaosebikan, who told the audience at the event that the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), was not responsible for the cancellation of the project.

Jakande said, “Reflecting on the metroline project, I think it is a major disservice to many Nigerians. Imagine how many people would have benefitted. It would have made life easier and changed the face of transport in Lagos. Whoever cancelled it or gave the advice towards its cancellation didn’t do right.”

The former governor asked Nigerians not to vote for unserious leaders in the coming polls, saying the elections presented Nigerians with a good opportunity that should not be squandered.

Expressing the hope that Nigeria would soon overcome its developmental challenges, Jakande said hope would be actualised faster if credible people emerged as leaders in the next dispensation.

He said, “This book comes at a very auspicious time in Nigeria’s history as we need leaders who can act. We need leaders who would not compromise the standards of good governance. God has blessed this nation the most in Africa, although we have not reached where we should be; with the right leaders, Nigeria would overcome its challenges.”

I can't be asked to read the previous comments explaining why they're not using the the Talgo rolling stock anymore but I'm glad, a fucking ugly and vastly inappropriate rolling stock to use for an urban metro system.

The HST(High Speed Train)125's now used though definitely not appropriate for metro purposes🤭 are cosmetically a better trainset to be seen used till someone wakes up and realises these too are not appropriate for 'Rapid Transit' use .

More passenger will ply this route if they open all the station- though I feel Ogun state should be punished by not opening up the agbado station UNTIL their state government repair the road around the station- it's awful!

The test trains are obviously not the new Talgo trains- they are InterCity 125 HST shipped in from the UK late last year

Blue line route is more industrial than residential. ALSO,Phase 2 that extends to residential areas is ongoing
