I may sound pessimistic. But it seems the foundation of our country is faulty.Nothing seems to work perfectly here. The slave mentality still have a strong grip on our political leaders.
Just imagine how they killed the textile sector.
The political class vis-a-vis the elites and ' big boys/babes' prefer to wear clothing mainly imported/ made from overseas textile( designers).
While the masses strive to wear okrika clothes so as to get a feel of the made-in-overseas clothes too.
If the power sector and textile sectors were revamped and in good working condition, why should we be bothered of importing designers clothes/wrappers from Vietnam and other Asian countries ?
With a viable power and textile sector in place , manufacturers will comfortably import machineries that will produce global-standard clothing. Global brands will even come to Nigeria to have their own share of the clothing business too.
Who do Nigeria this one na?

"Fear"? Fear of what? Fear of who?
No, we are not saying the same thing.
The refinery wasn't ready for operation under Buhari, it's just recently that the refinery is ready to receive and process crude oil. The govt of the day will do anything legally possible for the refinery to work as soon as possible. It is to their advantage.
Having said that, there are many obstacles to supplying needed oil to Dangote due to previous agreements and contracts. Also, some other people have personal business interests that will be jeopardized by this refinery hence those will try as much as possible to curtail the efficiency of this refinery. It's way more complicated than you can comprehend. Everything is not govt govt govt. Those interests such as the international oil companies would rather sell their oil for more money on the international market than sell to Dangote in Naira.
There are many conflicting interests.

It is now that the refinery is ready for operation that Dangote is speaking out especially when he sees that others have their business interests that conflict with his interests.
No one will benefit more from a seamless Dangote operation than this govt, it will automatically act as a catalyst to this economy hence the govt will do anything possible to make sure that the refinery works as soon as possible.
who are those international market you made mentioned?or were you expecting the government of the day to come openly and tell you that they themselves got a refinery somehow somewhere ?

Govt this, govt that. Who is the govt? Is govt made up of one or two people? The govt is made up of thousands not millions of people. If you are going to make accusations, you better put names on it, or else it's just rumors and innuendoes.

Even refineries in the US are still importing crude from Nigeria and other places even though the US is one of the top producers of oil. They will still import while some of the crude they produce is exported. It's more complicated than most people think. I was watching a video just yesterday explaining the reasons behind this absurdity.

At the end of the day, Dangote will get some oil from NNPC, and the production of petrol will start bringing relief to the average Nigerian. That's all that matters at the end of the day.

These are some of the hypocrites who complains about govt granting Dangote monopoly over their kinsmen now forming bad govt policy! U can't be obedient and not sound foolish..

Tinubu’s tribulation agbadorian economics is affecting everyone now. In-house and foreign macro-industries or establishments are just folding up with gusto because of a economy bastardized by an illiterate but certificate forging drug baron whose only claim is entitlement to a presidency he knows nothing about. Dangote and all these elites like Tony Emelelu Femi Otedola all saw this disaster and gave it support. Now the rich are also crying.

But, from what was reported in that article it was an event that happened before obasanjo sic (2003 - 2007). Hence, he mentioned when obasanjo asked him to come and invest, he declined.

How does Tinubulation got anything to do with that?

Dangote was lamenting on past businesses that went south, and Tinubu policy was the causes?

People in Government are scared of the Dangote dynasty but instead of them to use state resources to compete with him they f.oolishly decide to deprive their people jobs out of hate for one man,

They are so ignorant to the point that they don't know Dangote is not a private business owned by Dangote himself but a public conglomerate with Nigerians and Foreigners as shareholders.
People like you are the problem of Nigeria. Yes, I stand with those people in government. Dangote should compete and not wait to enjoy some Monopoly.

You don't know what Monopoly does to the economy of a country that is why you are here defending the monopolist.

Do you know that I found it difficult to know that the real word is tribulation instead of Tinubulation? I thought your spelling was wrong until I had to check and recheck and later realised that I am so used to the word TINUBULATION that I thought the word Tribulation was a wrong spelling. Chai grin

This is the kind of talk we want to hear. If all those successful persons shared their real-life stories about what it took them to get to where they are, the tendency to cut corners to get rich will reduce. Rome was not built in a day.

You don't know what Monopoly does to the economy of a country that is why you are here defending the monopolist.
What's this one even saying? Dangote was brave enough to build a refinery after decades of our own refineries refused to work, instead of you dimwits to be happy his refinery will reduce pump price you are here shouting monopoly like an enemy of progress..

Did Dangote stop those 4 Nigerian refinery from working?

Did Dangote tye the hands of other Nigerian billionaires who are not brave enough to build a refinery or care less about Nigeria's energy needs which is so huge.

Is Dangote the only Billionaire in Nigeria?

Why are other Nigerian billionaires not investing in Nigeria?

From the above you can see Dangote is the only patriotic Nigerian billionaire in Nigeria because he chose to do what other billionaires fail to do, those people like you shouting monopoly should compete with him or shut up.

You can now see that it is infact people like you are the real enemies of Nigeria.
