Does Government have any right to force marketers to sell at regulated prices?

Nope! No government has that power. The intricacies of the financial market are dictated by the forces of demand and supply.

Nigerian government is the original definition of i am that i am.

She can be a god in the morning and the devil at night and no other entity or group have the power to contest or challenge her actions.

So a govt that sells it's forex at whatever prevailing price they sell for wants others to sell their goods at a fixed Lower rate

of course they can, its very simple... regulate the price and people will only go and buy where the food is cheaper. if nobody buys the food at exhorbitant vendors and the vendors selling at regulated price is the only one selling, then yeye thieving vendors will have to lower their price or be forced out of business due to no sales.

now the smart-evil ones would buy off all the products at cheaper price and when it is sold out everywhere then sell it at triple the price.

so as everyone bought at 100 naira they’ll resell at 50 naira. I guess you did demand and supply/debit and credit in early stages of your education? What does that tell you. Put them in your shoes. Boss if fuel go down everything will go down.

How reasonable is it for government to give enabling environment and imput subsidies to Capitalist who inturns sells abroad or or within at high price.


Both investors and consumers deserves price protection.

No. Same man who takes a fixed cut of Lagos revenue thinks it is cool to force others to sell at ridiculous rates what they are buying or producing so expensively.

They're only trying to worsen the situation. The marketers will simply keep their goods for consumption than sell at loss. That'll amount to worsening scarcity of goods. For some services, some may offer at lower prices just to survive.
I can't buy a bag of rice 70k and sell 65k but a barber can manage to collect #500 instead of #1,000. that's when the barber is using govt power supply not generator.

They failed to forced down cost of production but what to force down cost of items.

Let them bring down price of petrol, electricity tarrif etc before they can ask marketers to reduce cost of their products

No government has such powers, eapcially in a free economy.

Can government control house rent?

Why should a miniflat be going for 1.5m, 2m etc?

They should start with their own prize. Fuel at #65, electricity at 1.5k per month, international passport at 5k, import duties at 100k per container.
