I really doubt wee see most of these folks again. If any, maybe Oderah. They are aged 34 with only Oderah and Victoria actively playing basketball professionally. Asides the fact that I don't think they'll personally want to come back, I really do not think it's help us in the long run including them in a roster moving forward. Even if we ignore the fact that they won't be as athletic as they used to be a few years ago, I'll rather we find younger players who fit their mould that we can work on in view of the next Olympics.
I was talking about this Olympics not the future. Those players could have added something to our team. Not too long ago they all did their thing at the FIBA qualifiers. We would never had beat France without Victoria. They would have actually given us a second unit

...she is not what she used to be, again, it understandable has she just gave birth coming into last season, which would mean, she wont have no off season work-out, despite that, she is still better than almost all our bigs, i catch their games on youtube....Landerneau of France.
Women give birth all the time in sports. It is different strokes for different folks. Some might come right back to full form and fitness and for others it might take a little more time. If she still wants to play I can guarantee u that we will see her back to her best in no time. 29 is still a prime age.

Oh I don't disagree. Sports isn't mathematics so we can say for certain but having those guys on the roster with the kind of defense we play now would have taken us at least to the semis.

Our major issue has been offense and the trio solves a significant part of it for us.

Yea I also think it is about systems sha. Otis was more traditional with the 2 bigs in the game at once while Rena is more of a small ball type. So Otis would have Victoria and Odera in the game at the same time while Rena would alternate Pallas and Murjanatu.

The FIBA U-18 Women’s Afrobasket will be held in South Africa from September 1-13 in the city of Johannesburg.

Nigeria’s U-18 women’s team qualified in style, beating Liberia 90-9, 😂 and hosts of the West African qualifying tournament, Cote d’ Ivoire, 94-23

The other qualified teams are Mali, Egypt, Angola, Morocco, Uganda, Zambia, South Africa, Cameroon, Tunisia and Rwanda. One remaining qualifier is yet to be determined.

The two finalists would then advance to the 2025 FIBA U-19 Women’s World Cup to be held in the Czech Republic, from July 12th - 20th.

Fun facts:

D’Tigress are 24-0 in Afrobasket play, stretching from their win over Angola in the 2015 Afrobasket bronze-medal match.

D’Tigress are also 28-0 against African opposition, in all competitions, since 2015👏🏾

The delayed payment of the Assistant Coach’s bonuses is squarely on the hands of the NOC, because Aso Rock had already released 12 billion Naira for Naija’s Olympic contingent

It was the men’s team that were denied visas, not the women

Well well well..

It turns out that the South African embassy actually granted the Nigerian U-18 team visas, because they’re now in action vs Egypt at the U-18 Afrobasket

They did that yesterday and the boys arrived South Africa today. They only had a few hours of rest before the game they're currently playing now. FIBA also had to move their game by one day I think.

Full time FIBA Africa U-20 Afrobasket
Egypt 70-57 Nigeria

After carrying the 1st quarter, the Nigerian boys faltered in the remaining quarters.

But in the context of the situation they found themselves only 48 hours ago, they put in a valiant effort
