Icheku, Velvet tamarind (Dialium cochinchinense) is from trees in the rainforest region. not a Northern Tree. it grows in my village in Enugu in abundance.

Eggplant is also not a crop with Northern Origins.

I have also eating some very good fruits in the Southern part of the country with good sources of vitamins and menerals plus health benefits.Our leaders are our problem.the day we will get leadership structure right in Nigeria, the whole world will have Nigeria to recon with. We have everything here in this country. If you travel inter state those days when we don't have security challenges like now, you will see them been hawk on the road sites.oooooh my beautiful country Nigeria, who bewitched dee 😭. Have you ever eaten other rare northern fruits like:
adua,
kadanya,
dinya,
jinin kafiri
atule,
kokon biri?
Do you know kuka? I mean the white one that is grounded into powder & sugar is added to it to make it neutralize it's sourness.
This kuka I'm talking about is not the green one that Hausa pple cook as miyan kuka ooh.

If you really stayed in the north & You mingled & fraternized with them without showing disdain for their foods, you would probably know most of these fruits I mentioned.

There are other unique northern delicacies like: fura da nono, masa, awara, dakuwa, alewa, alakakabo, hanjin ligidi, gurasa, etc.....
