abduleez1:I remember when "Joker" (2019) dropped and first critics review where on about, "Oh it was too violent", "oh it's gonna increase gun violence"...like violence and gun crimes didn't exist before....like the movie birthed it!, it didn't even deter me, i was seated by 10am on 5/10/2019, and we were like 3 in the cinema hall, and we had a treat!. It turned out to be one of my best movie experiences pre covid world before the madness of the lockdown started. It went on to totally smash it at the B.O, and Joaquin Phoenix getting Oscar's best actor nod, and when called upon to receive said award, this brother appeared so nonchalant, yapping about Animal rights and what not, and there have been whispers about the mental toll the character took on him, so i didn't even remotely think he was gonna sign up for a second one... So you can imagine my joy 😩😩....and they went ahead to cast Lady Gaga as "Harley Quinn" that's like going "crazy for crazy", and to top it all off, they pulled Bredan Gleeson from Ireland. This is like A1 casting.... So brother, i can't tell you how unbelievably back we are 😩😩 . Seated for this feasting ✌🏾 5 Likes 4 Shares |

oyaskii:Like... you can feel the hype. I'm hearing Lady Gaga might be up for either an Oscar Best Actress or Supporting nod depending on which category WB campaigns for. So it's looking pretty good. And the chills I get from the trailer is that this one offers more. I'm hearing somehow this is darker than the first one from peeps with ears on Venice Film Fest. They casted damn well. And I'm hearing it's gearing up for around $120-150mn domestic box office opening. Nothing have pushed me to go see a film in theatres this year more than Joker 2. Even stronger than Dune 2. It's something unconventional with the musical vibe they're going for. It's different from what we're used to the genre and universe. Todd Philips never go back to a universe twice, so my huge surprise he'd be back for this one. So the pull to see this is great for me. Yep, I very much remember the goofy controversy related to this movie back then. And it was even banned in China cos the government were afraid it would emboldened student protesters who had been viol£ntly protesting for weeks in Hong Kong. It was a movie believed to be made for "anarchists" & "incels" and toppling the status quo. Funny enough, Phoenix is embroiled in another controversy several weeks to Folie a deaux's global premiere. 😅 Always thought it would be hard or impossible to think of a sequel to that masterpiece of a movie, but after watching the trailer and what I'm seeing. I'm a believer. One thing I'm sure about this, the cinematography is top tier and will easily be a contender at the Oscars. Gaga and Phoenix are a perfect match for what they're going for. Saw this trailer some days back but refused to watch. Now after Oyaskii's review, I decided to see what's the fuss about. I like the trailer. It looks interesting with a heavy preference for being dialogue heavy. I feel ill enjoy it. Feels so similar to Lost in Translation. 🎥 LOTR - The Rings Of Power S01-02 (2022 - 2024) = 4/10 ❌ Gets worse with each new season. There are more females than grains of sand in the series. That's how you know it's gonna be shit. I bet there were lots of females involved in the production of this series. TRAP 5.3/10 M Night Shyamalan's TRAP — is full of plot holes 🤦🏻♂️ It could have been a fantastic psychological thriller if he had focused more on the killer/the kills/his mental state/the cat & mouse game. But no, he seemed to care more about his daughter's screen time

"Kinds of Kindness" (2024). A very hard sell..... There are some filmmakers that have a strong imprint on their films that defines them. David Lynch is known for surrealist flicks and he is the king of that genre, Christopher Nolan makes metaphysical flicks that centers on human connection and personal identity. So enters Yorgos Lanthimos, who has carved a name for himself with a sub genre he might as well had invented himself, absurdist dark comedies that are very graphic and explicit that seemed to work just fine, up on till now... Kinds of Kindness is an anthology of 3 stories , starring the same lead cast, all through the 3 stories, but that's where the connection ends. The first story, while not all high good, piqued my interest, but the 2nd story was not it at all, and by 3rd story, they just started inserting absurdity for the fun of it, so much so that it lost any form of shock value, whilst telling no coherent story and lacking any sort of direction and by the end, the whole thing looked like the random thoughts and dreams of Yorgos whilst high on premium grade exctasy. His last film, "Poor Things", worked and received much critical acclaim because underneath the absurdity and nudity, there was still a story to resonate with, but i have to be frank...This didn't work for me at all. You can actually skip this, if you have better things to see, (not much of those around these days anyway), but if you go ahead, just know you'd be investing 2 hours and 43 minutes, that you could have spent elsewhere been productive. 4/10

blingxx:Lmao.... Fantastic Four has a worse shitty record than even Superman. The last F4 movie had a worse box office gross than even Superman Returns. So no qualms here. It's James Gunn, so I ain't scared. |
