Enzo Fernandez starting is already a strain on the midfield leaving only Caicedo in midfield cause Palmer would always be up there with the attack, now I believe his absence from the team last season was one of the reasons for that good run

If you've followed the games, you will see that mid-games, Caicedo will always be the RB in the absence of Gusto and James. It allows to cover the RB position as well the inverted RB position with the same player who would have been CDM in the first place.

This way, you can still play with 2 x 8s plus Palmer in attack.

The problem is not having another CDM. This is what we are telling you. Enzo is the captain, and it seems he must play.

If Enzo didn't play, we have cover in James and Viega. It's not necessary to have yet another CDM, when we already have multiple layers of cover.
