Hmmm ...lone car accident but photo showing two cars.....which one be Toyota Camry? Overloaded and speeding? It must be something more ... tyre blow out or just lost control and ran off road or crashed into something. Wayyy too many avoidable accidents and loss of life .
I think the picture was for illustrative purposes only. The scenery in the picture is clearly not Lagos-Abeokuta road. I'm still wondering if it was regular Camry sedan or Camry bus because I'm still at lose over how 9 people could have fitted into the Camry sedan. That already was a set up for an accident......especially that they were driving at night!

Oh my goodness.
Many things are wrong with driving in Nigeria. How many people passed through the mandatory driving test before obtaining the licence.

We've surrendered almost everything to God. We refused to use our excellent given brain and blamed every misfortune on the devil.

We will get there one day
80% of drivers on Nigerian roads know nothing about driving rules. Nigeria is one of the worst places to drive in. Road signs? Condition of the roads? Condition of the vehicles?

Road worthy test is a mandatory test before the anual renewal of vehicle licence but not a single vehicle is tested before the renewal....Nigeria is very far from civilization and modernization.

Them dey overspeed with probably expired and over inflated tyres.

Carry over loading join am. Probably started the journey with prayers too but God looked at them and hissed.

He has given them Brain for them to use but no.

Probably too, one evil tanker driver or another road user could have cause the accident and ran away.

well thank you for the insults, but my questions and comment was with good intentions.
Count one, if you live in NIgeria and you own a car you would have realised that that stupewd Road worthiness has no test, you pay and they issue you a certificate, The proof of road worthiness was meant to be the Nigerian version of MOT.Now if you own a car in Nigeria, do you take your car for full test b4 that certificate is given> or you pay all in one as your car renewal? This was why I said you dont live in Nigeria and if you do you do not own a car!

I agree witht he tire bit,but overload is a major issue too, what most people call overspeed is barely 100km per hour

Firstly, my apologies. But how is that different from my submission which was that cars do not go for roadworthy checks in Nigeria? There's a gap in communication somewhere. Read again.
