The US coming for Tinubu’s head
Are you already projecting failure for his reelection bid in 2027?

We don't care give us petrol
Re: Tinubu’s Naira-For-Crude Policy Will Slash FOREX Demand By 40% — Dangote by malton:
Wash!

As far as Dangote, we've been here before.

It was this same format he used against Ibeto when he claimed Nigeria was one of the largest importers of cement and local production would boost the value of the naira. Today, Dangote still produces cement, sourced primarily within Nigeria, and yet the naira keeps losing value. This same man also produces sugar, salt, fertilizer, etc., none of which has helped shore up the naira in any way.

When you also consider the dollar obligations Dangote has to investors, it's safe to say even Dangote's demand for the dollar will remain constant. So where exactly does the difference come in?

As for those getting their hopes up about there being a reduction in petrol pump price, e go shock una.

The man should just run his business and forget propaganda.

No!

2027 is a done deal. 2031 should be the focus.

It's not false, if naira is 600/$, there's no way a litre of fuel will be #855/liter
Oga, crude oil has an international price. OPEC fixes prices for its member nations. It has nothing to do with exchange rate. If IOCs want to sell crude to Dangote, they will sell to him at OPEC price in naira equivalent. The only reason the price of petrol can come down is if the government wants to subsidize it. Crude oil isn't water anyone can sell anyhow they like. However, Dangote petrol should be a bit cheaper because the freight cost will be eliminated.

Let's watch and see na..is it not the same Nigerian leaders ?? You wish

Why do you think NNPC increased fuel price to 855naira ?? They know what they are doing

Trust me dangote will sell his own fuel above 855naira , which means petrol price have automatically increased instead of decreasing....we are in big trouble in this country
Have you forgotten marketers claim the landing cost for petrol is about #1117/litre?

https://punchng.com/petrol-landing-cost-now-n1117-litre-marketers/

NNPCL has been subsidizing on behalf of the government.

As long as the government does not bungle the crude supplies, then yes.

If not…Dangote refinery will have to source dollars to import crude.

I love this, everyone’s eyes will be on NNPC now.
The trouble is that they ARE going to bungle the crude supplies. Corruption aside, let's answer this question: Where does the bulk of Nigeria FX reserve comes from? Is it crude? If it is crude oil, then why would the FG forgo opportunity to earn FX in exchange for worthless Naira?

How about a better question: Who is the target audience for these ridiculous soundbites issued by FG?

The same way he believed that fuel subsidy proceeds will be adequately allocated to the masses via palliatives, as promised by his master initially.

Always quick to praise, even when he does not understand the intricacies in a statement.

Tinubu himself gave the order for crude to be sold to local refineries in naira, and he was fully supported by the FEC, why will anyone go against the president order?
