Fujiyama:Lagos can handle fire outbreak efficiently . Lagos is a site for great projects like thermal stations and refinery and since Lagos has a lot of resources,it can handle nuclear reactors as well . In life ,there's no perfection and designers always forgo bugs that have minimal effects on the products. |

Blazetrailer:This hate-filled Biafran invented a pack of lies to post on NAIRALAND for his fellow hate-filled IPOB terrorists to masturbate over. For those uninterested in his falsehoods, here's the low down on the said NIGERIAN NUCLEAR REACTOR which this man from goodness-knows-what-hole-in-the-ground claims is an ''empty cupboard'' or ''empty boxes''. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria_research_reactor-1 Related News FG, Research Centre Partner to Deploy Nuclear Reactor for Power Generation May 3, 2024 https://www.thecable.ng/fg-research-centre-partner-to-deploy-nuclear-reactor-for-power-generation/ In partnership with the Centre for Energy Research and Training (CERT), the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission (NAEC) says there are plans to deploy a nuclear reactor for power generation. Yusuf-Aminu Ahmed, chairman of NAEC, spoke on Thursday at the 20th anniversary symposium of Nigeria’s first nuclear research reactor-1 (NNR-1) in Zaria. Ahmed said Nigeria’s accumulated expertise in nuclear power positions the country well for advancing to the next stage of power generation using the technology. “We have used the reactor for research and development over the years and now we are going to use the reactor for the purpose of generating electricity,” the chairman said. “President Bola Tinubu has already given the commission a mandate to see how it contributes in the clean energy sphere of Nigeria and [how] the nuclear energy programme of Nigeria would participate.” He said the project’s timeline would not be publicly disclosed, adding that international partners and vendors are working closely with the commission on the initiative. Ahmed said intergovernmental agreements have been concluded with some vendors regarding nuclear power in Nigeria, noting that the president would make the announcement soon. In his remarks, George Akume, secretary to the government of the federation, said the 20-year safe operation of the nuclear research reactor demonstrates Nigeria’s commitment to the safe utilisation of nuclear energy. Akume said the procedures involved in operating a nuclear research reactor are similar to those required for establishing a reactor that would produce electricity. “President Tinubu has re-echoed the need for having nuclear energy into the sources of electric power generation in Nigeria and Nigerians should look forward to this power,” he said. “Electricity generated through nuclear energy is clean and safe except for human errors or natural causes such as the one that happened in Hiroshima.” Also speaking, Sunday Jonah, director of CERT, said the occasion was held to commemorate two decades of safely operating, maintaining, and utilising the first nuclear research reactor known as NNR-1. https://www.thecable.ng/fg-research-centre-partner-to-deploy-nuclear-reactor-for-power-generation/ |

What a weak comeback To start with, why have you assumed I am from Biafra? I am from the SW, not all of us are so blinded by the so called drug criminal to support lies and thievery. And I am not even convinced by Peter Obi so I was never and will never be an Obidient. Same fot Atiku...they are all thieves. Unlike you buffon who went online to copy wikipedia page, I know about the project well and can tell you more specifics because ZTE was heavily involved. please go further to Google NIRR-1, then come back and thank me for upgrading your knowledge. Ensquare:One day we will slowly realize that we have to maintain what we build. Some states in America have been ran to the ground Go to Detroit, you will se houses for $5000 because it was not maintained and everything is in tatters but Nigeria has to start paying better salaries and taxing those salaries and also killing corrupt looters |

Nigeria is finally going nuclear. Thank you Jesus.... Tinubu may not be the savior, but one thing is certain: God can use the most corrupt individual to change things. The enemies will believe they are planning something beneficial for themselves, but they will be surprised to learn that God's plan is unraveling. At last...nuclear energy. Nigeria should think na. How can a nation of over 220 million people not face challenges if it refuses to develop? There are no mega-developed amenities for Lagos' population of over 25 million. By now, the lowest building in Lagos should be 20 stories high. But we still find individuals trying to build bungalows. Too bad. By now, people in Lagos should have stopped building their own homes. In my opinion, Lagos Mainland LG should be demolished and everything there converted into skyscraper buildings for hosting estates that can accommodate at least 3 million people comfortably with green spaces. Individuals should be asked to purchase these apartments using long-term loan plans. We will get there. Let us see where the nuclear plants will be strategically located. Many illiterates will not want it in their area. Lol. I am guessing this will be on the ocean close to Lagos again. Lol. |

Nuclear Energy? When we can not get a refinery right. Technology is transferable and does not need re-discovery. This does not apply to Nigeria, sorry. Road infrastructure, health infrastructure, basically every technology perfected in other countries do not survive in Nigeria. Our so called leaders and administrators are not fit for the offices they hold. |

Bliztzer:I know Nigerians better than you know yourself. I was around just when Shoprite wanted to come to Nigeria with all these shopping malls. Majority of people ON THIS FORUM were telling them it was a waste of money, because the average Nigerian lived on ''less than a dollar a day'' and only rich politicians would be able to afford to shop in such places. Today, what is the story? Even villages now are getting Shoprite. Demand is so high. So I've learnt to ignore Nigerians. They don't know anything. |

This senseless Anu Npama and Akpa Amu of a president has still not learnt his lessons about China. One small Chines company almost ceased all our national assets after a deal went sour with Ogun state Government, yet this old hag still crawls to China for more stupid deals thay will eventually end in tears. We should be more concerned about what we are owing them and how to pay up our national debt to china. This shouldn't be a time to be asking for more favours from a country that is popular for mortgaging other African nations. |
