| Re: Lagos Computer Village Traders Vs Iyaloja-General Folashade Tinubu-Ojo by flokii: 7:24pm On Sep 03, 2024 |
Beremx:All the markets in Lagos you can point to were created by Yorubas and the Obas in Lagos have stake in them.. From Ladipo market to Alaba market to Tradefair to Computer Village. I don't blame some of you Igbos but Yorubas that love keeping quiet where they ought to challenge invaders. Go to sabon gari in Kano and claim Igbos started the market if ab0kis won't deal with you. When did you reach Lagos?.. I'll tell you the history of Computer Village so you'll educate yourself and know that Igbos came to meet people there. |

Beremx:That entire area is owned by Yorubas 100%.. the place that is now Computer Village was more of residential mixed with small businesses (mostly computer sellers and accessories). The place gained prominence due to it's central location close to under bridge, Ikeja and directly adjacent to Awolowo House which was like another shopping centre. Don't go and be sleeping on bicycle, spreading falsehood that Igbos started computer village make Yoruba people no vex for una. Respect your hosts. |

Christistruth00:Not true. Never in the history of Yoruba land except for Tinubu who is known for serial bastardisation of Yoruba culture |
| Re: Lagos Computer Village Traders Vs Iyaloja-General Folashade Tinubu-Ojo by InyinyaAgbaOku(m): 11:22pm On Sep 03, 2024 |
Christistruth00:Lies. Iyalojas are basically traders who head a market. So, Tinubu daughter being one is bastardisation of Yoruba culture. Iyaloja must come from the market, can be Yoruba or not. About loyalty, let a real iyaloja from the market become loyal to the oba, it's not a problem. You can't solve a problem you don't have experience in. So the court was right for sacking her |
| Re: Lagos Computer Village Traders Vs Iyaloja-General Folashade Tinubu-Ojo by Christistruth00: 12:48am On Sep 04, 2024 |
InyinyaAgbaOku:You don't know our History The Oba could appoint anyone to be Babaloja or Iyaloja they only needed to be loyal to the king |
| Re: Lagos Computer Village Traders Vs Iyaloja-General Folashade Tinubu-Ojo by Christistruth00: 10:17am On Sep 04, 2024 |
InyinyaAgbaOku:You don't know our History or Culture You don't need to be a Trader in a Particular Place to be made it's Iyaloja the Oba can appoint any person he trusts as his Babaloja or his Iyaloja An Oba's Market Taxes and duties collector could be made a Babaloja Computer Village itself is about to be sacked because it is in a residential area At least you cannot argue with that If you have the right to lockdown your own Region markets every Monday remember that others too have their own Traditional rights too and respect them |
| Re: Lagos Computer Village Traders Vs Iyaloja-General Folashade Tinubu-Ojo by InyinyaAgbaOku(m): 11:16am On Sep 04, 2024 |
Christistruth00:Sacking computer village is not the issue but the fact that the iyaloja must come from the market. Go and look for other means of making money, leave market people to choose their leaders. The court was right for sacking Tinubu So , is there iyaloja at Microsoft and china town now ? |
| Re: Lagos Computer Village Traders Vs Iyaloja-General Folashade Tinubu-Ojo by Christistruth00: 2:48pm On Sep 04, 2024 |
InyinyaAgbaOku:Sacking Computer Village is an issue on table especially if they don't respect their hosts Culture It is in wrong location Iyaloja doesn't need to come from the market but is appointed Loyalty is the main requirement You cannot teach us our own Culture Many Oba's Sales and duties Tax collectors became Babalojas |

This level of greed ehn. I haven't seen it before. The money she collects as levies, how is it spent? Is there any constitution backing this madness? Whatever levies yiu charge these traders, who do you think end up bearing the ultimate cost of it? Is it not still the masses as they end up buying these things for higher than normal. Let the people breathe. |

Very unwise to have taken legal decisions. Now the government will deploy other means to ensure that the fees are paid. Can a law chamber decide how clean an environment is. At what point what that place commissioned as a market by the Lagos state government the only authority that can make, build and disband any unauthorized selling point. I just hope they withdraw that fiat and seek alternative means of resolving the matter asap. Market levies are normal and a peregative of the local council council |

I don't care about Tinubu's family or his daughter, but let it be known: no non-Yoruba, especially Igbo, will head any market—be it a vegetable market or Computer Village—in any part of Lagos State. It won't happen. The Igbo will never again be allowed to have any influence in any part of Yoruba land; it's already sealed! If anyone from the land of primitive, forest-dwelling ancestors is looking for a market to dominate and colonize, they should relocate to their tiny, five-plot, erosion-ravaged land. A Yoruba person will be the 'Iyaloja' and 'Babaloja' of every market in Lagos, and by extension, every part of Yoruba land. If any Chinedu or Emeka is not comfortable with it,you can take your business to your village. You won't be missed! |
