Please, I don't have router and don't intend on getting one. I noticed no option for that 20k unlimited data plan for Airtel.

I use my phone and shoot hotspot signal.

How can subscribe for this with just my phone?

The plan is sim based and only available on routers not even mifis. So, you either get a router with the attached sim, which you can remove and insert in your phone, or you buy the sim off someone who has an airtel router already.

I heard the rubbish routers needs electricity/charges. t would ne hard finding someone who use it to swap SIM card (where I live).

As per electricity needs yes it's actually true for the ODU devices but that too can be tweaked, my friend attached a router powerbank to the beacon 2 wifi distributor and attached the fastmile receiver to a small UPS, energy consumption is very low, so the setup takes him for hours on a full charge. For swapping sims, you only need a star screwdriver to open the compartment and switch ur sims, if you do the swapping fairly regularly then you can leave the cover off, the sim holder slide in and out quite easily.
The other routers have follow come battery banks and sims can be swapped easily. Cheers

Yes via third party subscription on the router...I do with it (sub) for my mentees.

I have tried to reply far earlier but when I hit submit, it refresh to Nairaland homepage without publishing.


I went to Airtel office and they said unlimited is 50k for purchase with onee month free but you pay another 50k per month. They seriously adviced me to go for 1TB for a year at 100k... I sincerely don't think I can finish 1TB in 6 months so I would go with the cost effective one.

Nairaland has rules against such…drop your digits you’ll be reached for further transactions.
