Abuja : From Darkness to 24 Hours Light, Less Road Holdup - A Legacy of FCT Minister Wike By Michael Samuel Idoko

The Capital city of Nigeria (Abuja) has transformed from a city plagued by darkness and road holdups to a metropolis that boasts 24-hour light and seamless traffic flow. This transformation is a testament to the visionary leadership of the FCT Minister, Wike, who has left an indelible mark on the city.

Prior to Minister Wike's tenure, Abuja was notorious for its inadequate lighting, which made navigating the city at night a daunting task. The lack of streetlights and poor road infrastructure led to a surge in crime rates, accidents, and traffic congestion. However, under Minister Wike's stewardship, the FCT Administration has invested heavily in upgrading the city's lighting and road infrastructure.

One of the flagship projects of Minister Wike's administration is the installation of solar-powered streetlights across the city. This initiative has not only improved visibility at night but also reduced the risk of accidents and crime. The solar powered streetlights are energy efficient, sustainable, and require minimal maintenance, making them a cost-effective solution for the city.

In addition to the streetlighting project, Minister Wike's administration has also embarked on a comprehensive road rehabilitation program. Major roads and highways have been repaired and expanded, reducing travel times and making commuting easier for residents. The rehabilitation of the roads has also improved safety, reducing the number of accidents and fatalities.

Another significant achievement of Minister Wike's administration is the reduction of road holdups. The FCT Administration has implemented a series of measures to improve traffic flow, including the deployment of traffic management personnel, the installation of traffic lights, and the creation of dedicated bus lanes. These initiatives have significantly reduced travel times, making Abuja a more attractive destination for businesses, investors, and tourists.

The transformation of Abuja is a proof to Minister Wike's commitment to creating a livable and sustainable city. His legacy will be remembered for generations to come, and his impact on the city will continue to be felt long after he leaves office. As Abuja continues to grow and develop, it is clear that Minister Wike's vision and leadership have laid a solid foundation for a brighter future.

Obis supporters will deny this reality. They will tell you all the development are audio development. It's only in Abia that development is ongoing. Once you don't support Obi, you are not doing anything. Meanwhile Obi himself is clueless about how to support Otti with ideas to pay #30k minimum wage. The Messaih that cannot save a State want to save a country. Dey play ! How come Obi can't apply all those his Egypt and Dubai and Kigali theories he talked about at Chattam House to help Otti ? Does anyone remember how many times he went to Chattam House? Obi, please help Otti now.

Dear Jagaban lovers,

What is the progress update on Tinubu’s eight point agenda he promised Nigerians in 2023? This is over one year now. How far?

1. food security;
2. poverty eradication;
3. growth,
4. job creation;
5. access to capital;
6. inclusion;
7. rule of law; and
8. fighting corruption

https://punchng.com/translating-tinubus-8-point-agenda-to-recovery/?amp

What about the 50 million jobs promised between 2023 to 2026? How many has Tinubu and his government created?

I remembered when Buhari was first elected, everything in Abuja started changing which included fixing of street lights, traffic lights and constant light. But with time, the light issue became worse. I think the fear of Buhari as a no nonsense man made every one to sit up but changed when they saw the political Buhari and not the military Buhari.
This government is doing well earnestly in the area of electricity in the FCT and I must commend them. Kudos Mr Wike and Mr President.
Mr President, please look into the cost of fuel and think of the masses. Be a leader and not a hardened ruler.

You people are wicked o wink

Me sef have forgotten about these trips, particularly the one to Egypt when Mr Obi famously claimed to have learned the ways to transform Nigeria's electricity after just a few days in Egypt.

I am surprised Mr Obi, as a loyal citizen, has still not published what he learnt in Egypt so that the government he criticises so much can learn from it. Or is he waiting to use the knowledge only if he becomes President.

May be he has passed the magical information to Aso Rock secretly because electricity in my area has improved significantly in my area.

For where ? Thats why elders says empty drum make the loudest noise. During campaigns he was making noise while Tinubu was silent. After elections now Tinubu is delivering project s and Obi is clueless with Otti in Abia. Or have you seen anything out of the ordinary in Abia that is not happening in other states ? Nah statistics we go chop ?

you've justified 30k naira you are receiving every month for supporting Tinubu's disastrous government.
Abuja's roads are not congested like before because most car owners have parked their cars and greater percentage of those who should be on the road are on queues.
No night life as we used to enjoy during Goodluck Johnathan because of bandits, kidnappers and one chance robbers.
The city is ghost town most especially in the night

Wike is doing well as the FCT minister.

Those who are yet to see the changes should just be patient as the changes won't happen in a day.

Thumbs up to Wike

We are still flexing his infrastructural achievements in Portharcourt.
Generally Wike is a good administrator and one thing that makes him stand out is that he likes focusing on areas where he can easily achieve success rather than misplacing priorities by trying to achieve everything at once.
I have been following him since he was local govt chairman, till Minister of State , GDI , till now.
