the main barbecue fish is done with croaker, but it's quite expensive, catfish barbecue is kinda common cos it's cheaper... Normally barbecue is suppose to croaker fish alone, Nigerian just improvised with catfish.

I remember, back in late 80's when I used to go fishing with my uncle in Ikoyi ,around where the french embassy is located. And also at Lagos Island. Men , sometimes, I saw some fishermen nets caught some fish, when they open the nets I do see faeces in it.
I nearly throw up. My uncle said, fish love eating faeces .
Do you know that , most houses in Lagos Island don't have soak away? They channel all their faeces into the Lagoon.

not really, It comes in different sizes and prices though more expensive than catfish,I still prefer well prepared catfish barbecue infact my favorite is day break barbecue.I keep in the fridge till next day by then the flavours have been properly infused..

It is widely sold in Lagos fish markets, you will also in frozen fish sections at ShopRite, Spar etc

I prefer Red snapper, markerel ,barracuda and Ray fish Red snapper taste really good when grill. Try to use oiled fish mesh . So the fish won't stick on the grill .

You can use fish mesh for all delicate fish .

Croaker does not come apart except you didn't start it well. I prefer croaker to catfish or tilapia.

I think I ate cat fish too much as a child because I can’t stand it anymore. Tried to revive my love for cat fish a month ago or 2, mehn i just couldn’t.
