It depends from the place you are talking of because Africa is extremely diverse with different cultures and yes there are high civilized peoples in Africa there are also Bush people living in the jungle even in the early 20th century in Africa.

No one will tell you the truths about yourself: you would return back to your power and be unconquerable.

Because when Europeans arrived Africa, they superimposed their priorities over ours. From then on, the only viable industries were those favored by them.

What they favored was slave trade, then during colonialism they favored palm oil, cotton, cash crops.

For example; In Angola, all industries were shut, except cotton farming. People were dying of hunger but it was almost illegal to plant anything else.

In India, they shut down the textile industry and instead favored fabric importation from Britain to India.

Worse, before leaving they imposed their language, education and religion on us, which means that whatever we knew or believed before they arrived doesn't matter anymore. Whatever we must learn now, we must learn it from them.

This alone was a unifying factor

The whole families gathered at a meeting point to air their views on arising matters. This was unique to the Igbos.

If other African people didnt recognize tribe, Igbos recognized tribe with this sysytem

My question is how were they even able to over power us to the extent we started selling ourselves, we know they had refiles, but how much was their number then that we couldn't fight back at least we had locally made weapons then too
