If You Removed Fuel Subsidy, Show Us Where It Is Going Into So It Can Be Tracked by Trendburst(op): 9:00am On Sep 10, 2024
Peter Obi has once again addressed the ongoing debate about the removal of fuel subsidy in Nigeria.

In an interview with News Central, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate emphasized the need for transparency in government figures. He argued that if subsidy has truly been removed, the government should clearly outline the projects where the savings are being redirected, allowing for accountability and tracking. Obi also pointed out that while subsidy has been lifted, the country’s debt continues to rise alongside the cost of living, raising concerns about the overall impact on citizens.

He further advocated for the preservation of democracy in Nigeria, stressing the importance of biometric systems and greater scrutiny in Nigeria’s borrowing and spending. He highlighted the need to prioritize areas requiring urgent attention to improve the nation’s development.

Regarding Rabiu Kwankwaso, the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, who recently expressed confidence in winning the 2027 election, Obi stated that his focus is on the current struggles of Nigerians, not on future elections. He made it clear that he is not desperate for the presidency.

I agree with Obi on this. Subsidy removal is an expensive sacrifice by the masses, and they should be updated on monthly basis how the money is being shared by the 3tiers of the gernment.
The people on their part should hold their governor's accountable on how he spent the money.

A state like Rivers, Delta, Akwa Ibom and Lagos should be able to build their independent power now that power has been moved to concurrent list

Niger, Benue and Taraba should invest in Agriculture, Ogun state should invest heavily on road infrastructure and build mono rail to complement Lagos Infrastructure.

SE governor need to provide enabling environment and create wealth in order to increase the people purchasing power so their trading can grow from homefront

This one is a clown.

You think your people in Akure, Ibadan, Ogbomosho, Abeokuta, Ado Ifon or Ikare have more purchasing power than people in the east?
