NLC leadership is already in politics. That was why the labour chairman in a convenience with a Briton plotted to effect illegal regime change using the so called endbad governance protest as opportunity. Even though the NLC was not directly the organizer of the protest some of the labour leaders, especially the chairman planned to capitalize on the situation by instigating and financing violence in some major cities that would have brought the government down. Yet that the DSS has uncovered the plot and is after him to go and explain is role, many unfortunately see it as if he being persecuted for no reason.
Secondly, as he has been looking for ways to discredit the government, he is at the same time plotting to hijack the Labour party. He nurses a presidential ambition and is secretly planning to hijack the Labour party so that by 2027 he can easily displace Obi and emerge as the party presidential candidate.
Recall that Obi attended the convention that reproduced Abure as the chairman of the party. So, why would he be party to the present arrangement that seeks to dispense out Abure? The reason is this simple! NCL leaders were the first to raise dust over the convention organized by Abure that has now become bone of contention among the party men. They have succeeded in discrediting the convention to extend that even INEC washed its hands off it when the electoral umpire said recently it was not aware of the convention. That statement by INEC unsettled Obi to now support Otti, the governor of Abia State who had from the beginning distance himself from the Abure convention. After discovering the plot, Obi decided to join hands with Otti to fight back and make correction before it becomes too late.
