The pro-democracy group described Tinubu’s policies as a symbol of corruption and economic oppression, while further criticising his administration for the skyrocketing cost of living in Nigeria. The Take-It-Back Movement has called on Nigerians to unite and brace for the upcoming #FearlessInOctober protest, aimed at addressing the rising hardship under President Bola Tinubu-led government. The pro-democracy group described Tinubu’s policies as a symbol of corruption and economic oppression, while further criticising his administration for the skyrocketing cost of living in Nigeria. In a statement released on Tuesday via its official X handle (formerly Twitter), the movement encouraged Nigerians to mark October 1 for a nationwide protest under the hashtags #FearlessInOctober and #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria2.0. The statement read: “Nigerians, brace yourselves: General Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a symbol of hardship and corruption, has taken the helm. Mark your calendars for October 1 and join the #FearlessInOctober #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria2.0 protest to fight for our nation's future and end the oppressive rule.” Tweet URL The protest comes as Nigerians struggle with unprecedented fuel price hikes following the removal of petrol subsidies in May 2023. According to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), prices now range from N855 to N897 per litre, depending on the location. Independent marketers have adjusted their prices even higher, ranging from N930 to N1,200 per litre. Since the subsidy removal, petrol prices have more than tripled, worsening the economic challenges faced by citizens who rely heavily on fuel for transportation and electricity generation. With October 1 fast approaching, the Take-It-Back Movement’s call is expected to ignite further debate on the state of the nation’s leadership and the impact of Tinubu’s policies. Earlier on Tuesday, SaharaReporters reported that oil marketers expressed growing concerns about the potential price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, as the landing cost of imported petrol has surged to approximately N1120 per litre. The increase in the landing cost, which was reported at N1117 per litre in July, has put pressure on dealers to consider alternative sources for their petrol supplies. With pump prices fluctuating between N600 and N700 per litre in July and rising to between N855 and N897 per litre last week, the cost of petrol has been on a steady upward trajectory. However, some independent dealers have even set their prices above N1,000 per litre. The delay in announcing the price for Dangote's petrol is exacerbating uncertainty among marketers. This uncertainty is prompting discussions with foreign partners to explore the feasibility of importing petrol, given the open market for competition. Abubakar Maigandi, National President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), revealed that the organisation is in talks with international partners to assess the costs of importing petrol. https://saharareporters.com/2024/09/10/take-it-back-movement-urges-nigerians-brace-october-protests-against-general-bola |

etrouble:Why should they wait till the next election when they can instead call for his immediate impeachment? Na tinubu papa get the seat abi wetin? Why should a man who has singlehandedly reduced over 20 million Nigerians to abject poverty in less than a year be allowed to continue one more day in office over them? ![]() And yes, it is possible for the Nigerian people to recall their senators, even Akpabio, and also call for the impeachment of Tinubu as well as his vice president. These things are made possible thanks to the Nigerian Constitution. All that is needed is the will of the people for it to happen. ![]() |

I can bet my balls Tinubu is the one sponsoring this protest... Why you may ask? To control the narrative of the opposition that's his style Any protest should be at the national Assembly to demand for electoral act amendment to force polling unit transmission of results But tinubu is distracting u from the main goal |

Brendaniel:What rubbish are you spewing?? I voted peter Obi so what's your point?? |
| Re: October Protests Against ‘general’ Bola Tinubu’s Inflicted Hardship by Brendaniel: 8:38pm On Sep 10, 2024 |
oyichi:Yes, I know and what did Nigerians do about it, nothing, they even told everyone to accept the result and move on, imagine if Igbos started protest against the result , you can imagine the rage, insults and assault that would have followed. So Igbos protested heavily with their votes, it would have been much more difficult if all regions copied the Igbo style of voting against him, the south east votes was a protest vote... The Igbos already know that if for anything they come out to protest against this man they will be blamed, so the only way they saw was through the ballot and after that if it did not work then no need to protest because they will blame them for hate... The election campaign played a major role in the decision the Igbos are taking now.... We don't want problem with anybody.... Part of the reason too is when this people start the blame game instead of other tribes to come in support of the Igbos and say enough is enough they leave the Igbos to fight for themselves. So Igbos are already used to it. We don't just want problem with anybody, we have played our part. Let others do something too, some Igbo people I know around me told me they are ready to wait till next election, one even told me she is ready to wait for 8 years of Tinubu that they should just allow the man to do his 8 years and not cause trouble in Nigeria trying to to remove him, that he is already there... The best time to have stopped him was during the election, that's why a lot of Igbos are not interested in any protest.... |
| Re: October Protests Against ‘general’ Bola Tinubu’s Inflicted Hardship by Brendaniel: 8:43pm On Sep 10, 2024 |
Tsarbomba:Good you voted Peter Obi and thank you for your support, you can protest because you are not Igbo so they will not blame you, for Igbos it is a different thing because they will be blamed, that is how some sections of the country have been blaming Igbos for all the problems of Nigeria since 1960, the last election they still did it, the last protest they still blamed Igbos for it even though Igbos did not join in the protest... So I beg you please just let Igbos be on this one, we are tired of getting blamed all the time, you can protest but Igbos will not join... We don't want problem with anybody and we don't want to be blamed... |

Didijiji:that's not the truth, why do you guys like blaming the Igbos for your glaring mistakes and short-comings ? we warned you about the cow-dealer, in 2015, not to elect somebody that has never established any business nor managed one, to manage our national economy, but your hatred for the igbos didn't allow you guys to reason properly, even when the cow -dealer was busy destroying the economy through his ineptitude, you guys were still cheering him to continue his misrule. Then in 2023 an old man said it was his turn to rule, avoided debates, was speaking gibberish, like babablu, blubababu, e.t.c. The Igbos rejected this man with too much baggages, but you guys supported him and he is now in power, further messing up everything, now you want igbos to join you and protest against your choice. You guys are actually the ones sabotaging good living in our nation, by always choosing the wrong candidates, through the lens of tribalism and senseless loyalty to false religious beliefs. better be patient with emilokan, until the next elections, instead of wasting our youthful lives, in the name of protests . |
