Lawyer and labour rights activist, Femi Aborisade, on Thursday says the federal government has concluded plans to sell all the universities, polytechnics and colleges of education in Nigeria.

Aborisade who stated this in an interview on Channels Television said he downloaded the statement on the website of the presidency whereby the federal government is calling on both local and international investors to come and buy the tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

“Recently, there is a statement which I downloaded and printed from the website of the presidency wherein, they have put for sale all tertiary institutions in the country – universities, polytechnics, colleges of education”.

“They are inviting the private sector, domestically and internationally to come and buy the government-owned tertiary institutions. So, the ruling class in Nigeria appears to be an irresponsible ruining class. I called them ruining class because they are not prepared to accept responsibility for public good, for education, water, health etc”.

“They are putting everything on the private sector and the private sector companies are not philanthropists. They want to make money”.
“When the tertiary institutions such as universities, polytechnics and colleges of education are sold, only the children of the rich will be able to afford education”.

you can't maintain clippers for your barbing business, you can't even afford ordinary clippers after how long in business yet you're supporting the sale of tertiary institutions where your fellow youths are trying to better their lives knowing fully well that most of them would be forced to drop out due to astronomical increase in tuition especially in this devastated economy.
