Professors and historians on Thursday unravelled the historical records of Lagos and laid to rest the argument surrounding the ownership of the state, dismissing the popular notion that Lagos is no man’s land.https://theeagleonline.com.ng/lagos-history-sanwo-olu-leads-charge-for-accurate-narrative-at-lasrab-community-symposium/

Nice clarity. Fagbohun traced the history of owners of Lagos to the Awori clan through one Chief Olofin Ogunire, which he said is evident in the highest number of communities in Lagos populated by the Aworis. “Unravelling the history of Lagos can contribute to Lagos’ future as a megacity. Lagos is one of the ancient Yoruba kingdoms and older than most Yoruba towns. This symposium is to create reminders that go beyond colonial reports. It will also strengthen collaboration between academic research and community,” he said. |

walefresh3:Your head is there! That's why one of the best things that has happened to Yorubas in recent times is the increased hatred of the Igbos towards us. That hatred has woken many Yorubas out of their docility. Whereas most Yorubas were liberals, we are now adopting a more CONSERVATIVE APPROACH to SW politics and YORUBALAND as a whole. Henceforth our mantra in Yorubaland is YORUBA FIRST 🥇 God bless Lagos. God bless YORUBALAND. Amen! #RestructureNigeria |

An average Hausa/Fulani no reason whatever happens in Lagos because they have their own rich culture and enough success stories. People from the South-South Nigeria are contended with what the nature has blessed with, you will never see them doing cho cho cho about what the SW are doing in their region. But you see the blodas from across the Niger bridge, as if without Lagos they cannot breath, instead of them to look inward to see what they can do to make their region attractive, no, they won't, they would rather be transferring their PVC to other people region during election while supporting and financing insecurities in their region. I hope their leaders will tighten up their belt and start correcting them on their expansionist attitude, because soon or later, a governor will emerge in Lagos and will not tolerate their attitude again. A welcome development from the leaders of Lagos State. Late Gov. Ajimobi son marries Gov. Ganduje's daughter, I didn't see the Yoruba people bragging about it neither do I see Hausa/Fulani jubilating how they will use the lady to steal Oyo State from the Oyo people. Gov. Sanwo-Olu daughter married her Oyo State born husband, I was surprised seeing the people across the bridge jubilating around, open series of thread, on NL, facebook posts and twitter comment how they have become Sanwo-Olu's inlaw simply because the groom is a very handsome man. I hope they will have a leader soonest that will help them to cure their inferiority complex problem. |

Good. Let the history of Lagos be taught in Lagos first before extending it to other regions in Nigeria |

Ipob should upgrade their brains. "...Ipob hates to hear Lagos is one of the Yoruba cities...". That clause is a poison to ipob. They should write this history in books and distribute some of them to ipob for free because they wouldn't buy with their money, they prefer ignorance to knowledge. Let's keep a copy for that online @LagosPrince (without crown or kingship's root). They want Oyo, Osun, Ekiti, Ogun, Ondo to go back, not knowing they are in their territories |

This symposium is long overdue. The history of Lagos needs to be told from the right perspective without any form of bias. Kudos to LASRAB |

obonujoker:They have told you the owner of Lagos, it is left for you to keep dancing on the podium of ignorance as you like. Lagos is one of the Yoruba cities that even existed before some Yoruba cities came...did you hear that right, Emeka? |
