A Nigerian man visited a zoo in Canada and encountered something very surprising. Along the walkway, he came across a banner that read "Meet the Gorillas." The banner displayed the names of each gorilla alongside their photos. To his astonishment, many of the gorillas had Nigerian names, such as Ngozi and Nneka. Watch the video.....

Here in Nigeria, some people name their dogs Clinton, Larry, Harry, Powell, Bush etc...

Also there's this Elephant at Jos wildlife Park, Plateau State that bears Elizabeth "Eli" for short. Once you call her by her name Eli she will come towards you, I even fed her with some shrubs then in 2013, so nothing much.

Yesterday, I spent three hours after my midnight prayers viewing live feeds from the Nigerian region on the streaming apps Buzzcat and Bigo.
I felt sorry for every man in Nigeria with a wife or girlfriend.

I don't know about you, but if those gorillas were my younger sisters, I'd pick offence that they are named after Nigerian girls.

There is nothing wrong in that. My dog's name is Harry. Is that not the name of a prince in England? If you watch national geographic channel, you will realize that most rangers give some of those wild animals specific native names. So their's no racism here.

Even Phoenix, Baltimore & San Diego Zoo have got such names.
African animals moved to the Western world are usually named after their locals.
I don't think it's something to worry about.
We name Dogs in Nigeria after them too
Names like Billy, Buffy, Spike, except one that was named after a President of a country called the Zoo

Those gorillas are more Beautiful in the heart and interms of Fidelity than Nigerian Girls........Its a mockery upon those Gorillas that they are given Naija girls name

There is nothing bad in this, it is just like naming your dog or cat Jack or Daisy.
