Naira Depreciates To N1,655/$ In Parallel Market by NaijaCover(op): 6:59am On Sep 13, 2024
The Naira yesterday depreciated to N1,655 per dollar in the parallel market from N1,645 per dollar traded on Wednesday.

Similarly, the Naira yesterday depreciated to N1,649.76 per dollar in the Nigerian Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market, NAFEM.

Data from FMDQ showed that the indicative exchange rate for NAFEM rose to N1,649.76 per dollar from N1,558.75 per dollar on Wednesday, indicating N91.01 depreciation for the naira.

Consequently, the margin between the parallel market and NAFEM rate narrowed to N5.24 per dollar from N86.25 per dollar the previous day.

But they said Dangote Refinery will bring the rate down to $1 to 1NGN

But they said Binance was responsible for the high rate

But they said BDCs were responsible for the high rate

But they said Fuel Subsidy and Smugglers were responsible for the high rate

But they said Peter Obi and PDP are responsible for the high rates

Let's continue to deceive ourselves, we are running out of excuses for not doing things the right way.

Where do you get that rate/picture, It seems to be accurate for the black market

In the animal kingdom, only the strongest/fittest (both mentally) are allowed to rule or lead the pack.

In humans, especially Nigerians, the reverse seems to be the case. So much for being the higher animals.

For example, look at this one below .. grin

Something about the Naira dollar appreciation/depreciation is that it helps us to know if the government is working or not. At least for now we can say that Tinubu is not working. He is sleeping, because Naira to Dollar conversion has depreciated more than 100% since he assumed office. Forget all stories of floating naira, the aftermath is what we shall use to pass our judgement.

Tinubu is a disaster, a weapon fashioned against Nigeria.
Who fashioned the weapon against Nigeria, if not we 200 million mumu Nigerians who allowed Obasanjo to help Tinubu make Buhari president so the JagaBandit can have his own ebilokan turn to upgrade APC's shege banza that we thought was change?

How does a supposedly brilliant and PERFECT old man like Obasanjo endorse Buhari to be president, even though he knows that the herdsman with 150 sterile cows is clueless about the economy? How could Obasanjo do such a treasonable thinghuh What motivated the pretentious elder statesman and born-gain holy holy Christianhuh

citizenisb:
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo says President Muhammadu Buhari may not do well in economy and foreign affairs, except in military matters.

“Buhari is not a very hot person on the economy and foreign affairs,” Obasanjo said.

The former President stated this on Monday at the third International Conference on African Development Issues — themed, “Driving inclusive and sustainable development in Africa: Models, methods and policies” — organised by Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State.

While reacting to a question posed to him by a member of the audience: “Is there any hope for Nigeria under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari?”, Obasanjo replied, “Is there any hope for Nigeria under this administration? I came back from Geneva, Switzerland a few days ago to attend a conference titled, ‘Are elections giving democracy a bad name?’ We had an election, we elected a leader and the good thing about democracy is that the power you have to elect a leader is also the power you have to remove him. I am saying this because I said earlier that if you don’t see any leader that has done well in the 56 years of Nigeria’s independence, then let us forget about Nigeria.

“I will tell you what I know and I will tell you what I don’t know. I know Gen. Muhammadu Buhari. He served under me in the military. His characteristics that I know, his behaviour that I know, he has not deviated from them. He was never a perfect man, he is not a perfect man and no leader can ever be a perfect man because they are human beings. But if you read my book, what I said about him is correct. He is not a hot person when it comes to economy. He is not a very hot person when it comes to foreign affairs. But he will do well in matters of military and he will do well in fighting Boko Haram.”
