In 2014, the government of the United Kingdom granted one of its 4 regions, Scotland, an independence referendum. One question was asked, "Should Scotland be an independent country?" To be answered by a simple 'Yes' or 'No'

Everyone in Scotland aged 16 and over were allowed to vote in this referendum, and a record turnout of 85% was recorded. Scotland voted 55% to remain in the UK, while 45% voted to exit the UK and become independent

In Nigeria, there are supposed six zones. They are not even geopolitical zones as the constitution does not recognise them. The area known as the 'South East' is mostly populated by Igbo ethnic group, of which I proudly belong to

It is my prediction that if the type of referendum held in Scotland, we're held in the South East, with the question "Should South East be an independent country?" Vote 'yes' or 'No'

There will be a record 90% turnout, and at least 85% will vote for the South East to become an independent country from Nigeria
