rice farm was his project, according to PM News.

[b

He admitted that the Ogun State government supported the project by paying 50 per cent of the cost of clearing the ground and supplying fertilisers.

“When I started, the Ogun State Government promised and paid 50 per cent of the clearing cost why I paid the balance,” Mr Zabarmawa told PM News. “That time I was buying a bag of fertiliser for N45,000, I paid N23,000, and the government paid the remaining N22,000.”

According to Mr Zabarmawa, when the rice was ready for harvest, Ogun State governor visited the farm to inaugurate it, noting that his promises since then have gone unfulfilled

“There was a time I wanted to harvest, the governor himself came here. The commissioner has been here twice. It was the governor who flagged off the harvest. I was very happy that day,” Mr Zabarmawa disclosed. “But, I still need government support.”m.

The Farmer is dubious and confused. The money Governor Dapo abiodun has been using to subsidize fertiliser for the Farmer is from world bank assisted project funding now.
Does Zabarmawa expect gov Dapo to use the money from his pocket?

Does the Farmer Zabarmawa think the money Ogun State Government paid to assist him in clearing the land for planting is coming from the Gov Dapo's personal funds.
He seems not to understand the meaning of the "World Bank-assisted project"
Why did the Governor claimed it was his State Government project? The Governor wan SCAM our Northern Brother

Zabarmawa admitted he got funding from the state government now. Where does he think the funding is coming from?
How much funding?

We said it that day
I said it
The story that day was very incredulous

I think this was a joint scam between the governor and farmer. The governor later swindled the farmer and that's why the latter is crying now.

Don't be a tribal bigot and try twisting the story, from the article it is obvious Governor Dapo wants to fraudulently hijack the farm from this farmer by not going through the legal doors of negotiation, agreement and signed legal documents with the farmer.

Governor Abiodun is correct 💯, even if he gave #1 naira not to talk of the millions he gave as assistance it is assistance and the governor never claimed ownership of the farm, he only expressed joy that the project he assisted through the world Bank fund is successful.
The farmer should appreciate the governor and give him due credit for supporting the initiative.

It is about your view point and his view point . You should have asked what template was giving to the Governor and you were told .. It is better you have a seat down with the Governor and resolve ... because it is very possible his aide told him another thing.

Nonsense! Why didn't the governor have a seat with the man before going public with the whole charade, to begin with? How can a person enter another person's farm and then claim the proceeds from the farm for his own? undecided

Nonsense! The reason you people think like this has to do with the way they have made you a lot into slaves in Nigeria.

Here's an example. Farms in America are heavily subsidized by the Government but no governor would dare claim that the proceeds from any of the subsidized farms belong to him or his administration or his efforts, and for good reason too. undecided

I don't follow your reasoning at all. Explain to me please why you don't think the man can manage 200 acres? And where do you get the idea that he has to do it alone? What is it that you claim you don't know and don't want to know for Pete's sake? undecided

I am saying the running cost isn't cheap, now the Governor said it is part of the world bank funded project, what he should do his go to the Governor and get more funding but with the headline it looks like he also want to be acknowledge, which is okay,so his head can swell, but what is important is getting more money .

You are not making any sense! The running cost of maintaining 200 acres of farmland? Are you for real? undecided

2. Did you even bother reading the story to make certain you KNOW what there is to be known?
Nonny95:
A young farmer named Bello Zabarmawa has refuted the claims of Governor Dapo Abiodun and asserted that he is the owner of the 200-hectare rice plantation contrary to claims that the project was funded by Mr Abiodun’s administration with support from World Bank.
Last month, Mr Abiodun and his entourage including a crew of photographers and videographers, visited the rice plantation in Magboro in the Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the state.
The governor posed for pictures holding the harvested rice grains while his media team parroted claims that Ogun has joined states such as Lagos and Bayelsa to grow local rice, raising expectations among residents for rice to be available at affordable prices.

But Mr Zabarmawa, a special adviser to Kebbi State Governor, debunked the claim saying the rice farm was his project, according to PM News
Mr Zabarmawa was notified of the rice plantation-friendly soil in Magboro after one of his associates, Haruna, visited the village in 2019.
Mr Zabarmawa arranged to disburse an interest-free loan to about 200 farmers to plant rice on one hectare.
Given it was an untilled ground, he hired bulldozers and other farming equipment to clear the land and prepare it for planting season.
But given it was an enormous expanse of the land and project that community members including the village monarch welcomed with joy, Mr Zabarmawa was encouraged to seek the government’s assistance.

He paid N6 million to secure 220 hectares on lease and registered it with the “Young Service Grow” using “Alubarika Farms,” PM News quoted Mr Zabarmawa as saying.
He admitted that the Ogun State government supported the project by paying 50 per cent of the cost of clearing the ground and supplying fertilizers.
The project belongs to this man. The loan which was obtained from the World Bank was given by him to 200 farmers who farm the land. The land was secured by this man. As for the fertilizers, he said the governor paid 50% of the cost as well as the cost of clearing the land. That money likely came from the annual disbursement of money from the Ministry of Agriculture for the purchase of fertilizers at the state level for the support of farmers.
