Presidency even in Nigeria is not a POPULARITY CONTEST.
Some states are bigger than some other states. Let’s say u win only Lagos, all 21million votes, and I win Edo and Delta states, 6Million votes. You lost with your 21million votes. Cos you won less states than me. Same with the premier league. Number of goals scored in a season may not help you, if you fail to win as much matches as I won. You can have 1000goal difference while I have just one goal difference and still lose the league to me
