Corruption of the highest order. Come to think of it why will the nnpc allow dangote to sell diesel to independent marketers directly and refuse selling of petrol to them directly? Something is cooking
Nothing is cooking. It simply means that nnpc will still be subsidizing petrol for Nigerians

People blame God and those who pray for the evils happening in Nigeria, but those who are evil are these men here.

The suffering in Nigeria is simply man-made and nothing else.
They just enjoy the fact that people suffer, otherwise, they'll allow him sell to other marketers. They know it will crumble and revealed may evils they have been doing thereby, making them (NNPC) look useless and abandoned.

Anything that will make pms to come down is highly welcome. If them like make them continue to pay subsidy.!!!

Very simple understanding, marketers will divert the product to the neighbouring countries for higher pay. You should know that the major problem in the industry is the marketers.
How are marketers the major problem in the industry?

Can you tell me the exact amount of fuel marketers have been diverting to neighbouring countries?.

How do they carry these products across the border that they are never seen while doing it?

How come no marketer has never been arrested for carrying products across the borders?

Do you want dangote fuel to expose the fraud that nnpc has been perpetrating in the name of subsidy payment and landing cost?

You are the eeediot for commenting on matters above your pay grade!

Dangote refinery does not need Nigeria to survive. Like I said ina post above, Dangote can import all its crude and export all its refined products. There is no shortage of willing international offtakers. Just the other day a Kenyan analyst was expressing his delight that Dangote is now onstream.

It is Nigeria that needs a way to get petrol to the people at a price that will not cause them to revolt or price inflation. They only way they can do that is to do a deal with Dangote and that is why Dangote is the sole supplier. If Dangote were to sell his products at the market rate like his diesel, it is the same ignorant eeediots like you that will complain that the price is too high.

Dangote does not need Nigerian crude or Nigerian market. His refinery is designed to handle crude from any source whether light or heavy and he will get a better price if he exports his PMS. It is you entitled brats who have been overdosed on subsidy that are having withdrawal symptoms paying the market price. Your neighbours in ordinary Niger, Cameroun, Benin etc are already paying market price and due to proximity Dangotes PMS will be cheaper for them.

The indian guy with Dangote, Edwin made comment about around a quarter of Dangote refinery output meeting our local need but here NNPCL is saying they will be giving Dangote 385k bpd to refine. That effectively means supplus and opennroom for smuggling arrangement whereby, petrol is subsidized for Nigerians, then the top men in govt collude to smuggle it out at a profit for every litre. The more the litres smuggled out, the better for them.
The way it is right now, they will be getting excess petrol than we can use locally. Cheaper price and the control of what comes out of Dangote refinery as petrol means they can do and undo as they please.
That gives dangote a strong bargaining chip also. He can reveal pretol output from his end if thingss go south in the future.

How is dangote "your saviour"?

Do you want dangote fuel to expose the fraud that nnpc has been perpetrating in the name of subsidy payment and landing cost?

At least this is a step in the right direction. It's not a finesse arrangement but Nigeria has stopped fuel importation.

With time things will fall into place in this country

Did the FG tell you they're still paying subsidy?

AmazingELixir:
Be grateful that the impasse has been resolved atleast, 385kbpd is significantly that's over 60 million litres representing about 64% of the refinery installed capacity... besides it doesn't make business sense to go on full capacity until there's assurance of the offtaker's capacity to absolve the finished product.

More importantly the statement reads from October 15 meaning he still have enough stock to sustain it till the prearranged date more importantly the NNPC supply arrangement is not a one off thing.

The concern should be the pricing which is still shrouded in secrecy.
You dont seem to understand how this works
Yes his capacity is 600k but he needs a feed stock of 6m barrels.
How many 350bpd will give him the feedstock.
Because going by this 350k bpd he would have to still import crude because he needs 6m barrels in the feedstock for him to produce.

Exousiang01:
This story doesnt add up
NNPC is already supplying 30m parels to DRL

350k barel is as insignificant as the last “ue” in Queue for a redinery with a capacity of 600k
And a feed stock of 6m

DRL already said they are getting 11m barels by october and they have recieved 30m barels already.

This story doesnt add up.
No price
they are just thieves, including u peoples Messiah dangote

The way some of you think and talk, enh! Is it Dangote that should go to jail, or NNPCL officials like Kyari and co? If you've really been following this matter, you would not just jump into it now to comment
tutudesz:
Than Dangote should be prepared to go jail, if another government take over.
He is a business man and not a political appointee, that can hide behind the president.

JuanDeDios:
I think you're mixing up 'PER DAY' and total supplies. No, 350k per day out of a total need of 650k per day is more than 50% - not insignificant.
A refinery is not an industry that will be getting raw materials in smal quantity.
DRL requires a feedstock of 6m barrels to produce.
Supplying him 380k bpd only means he wont even have anything in his feedstock which means DRL will still need to import crude.
You are talking 380k
What he needs is 6m
Starting from oct 1st they wanna be dropping 380k bpd, even pepper seller dont restock daily.

You can that the last crude DRL bought from Brazil was about 20m barrels

With NNPC being the sole off taker of pms from Dangote Refinery then the era of queue at our filling stations amid scarcity of pms hasn't ended in Nigeria. NNPC is synonymous with failure.

Tinumbu is the greediest man alive. He hasn't explained why naira is so valueless and fuel price is inexplicably high.

He and his family are riding Nigeria roughshod.

I personally want the government to get rid of subsidy 100%.

However, I was not elected into any office so it is understandable that the President may well feel removing subsidy completely and allowing the price of petrol to reach over N1000 is not sustainable when people are hungry.

Fair enough. But any subsidy should be reduced significantly.

As for NNPCL being the sole buyer, I hope no problem with that.

I fear the price - manipulating prowess of the so-called independent marketers more that I fear NNPCL.
I totally agree with you. I also want subsidy totally off the table but I can grudgingly agree that this is a move towards stopping fuel importation and hopefully making the naira stronger.

I think you're chasing a strawman. DRL receives at the rate of 650 bpd. NNPC wants to supply at the rate of 350 bpd, over 50%. Where is the problem? If they will supply it in bulk or supply it daily and gather it like pepper, I'm sure they can easily resolve that. The issue of starting stock has long been dealt with imports and all, so why are you bringing that up?

tefund:
NNPC as a company doesn't produce up to 350k per day of crude ,the bulk of our crude is produced by IOC and a good percentage of NNPC crude is already tied to foreign loan ...
Well, they've made a commitment to supply 350 bpd. Let's see how it goes.

Why is the pms only for NNPC? That means NNPC will be the middlemen here.
Something is not clear here
This simple means that government will continue to subsidise the pms because if independent marketers bought directly from Dangote, the price won’t be less than between 1300-1500
Re: FG, Dangote Reach Agreement On Petrol Supply, Lifting Begins Tomorrow by designking: 9:54am On Sep 14, 2024

Are you aware Dangote refinery imports the bulk of its crude?NNPC can only meet a fraction of its total need..
Nigerians don't consume more than 30million litres of petrol per day. Dangote is going to supply 25million litres while the balance will be imported.

This truly makes sense but trust me there’s no way subsidies can be eradicated completely otherwise common man wouldn’t be able to buy the pms.
