That's not the reason. For context, most footballlers even up to Laliga 2 earn more than some highly paid tech guys. For instance, a tech geek may earn about 260k per year and he'll be considered "Doing Well" while a player in Laliga 2 may be collecting 10k per week or even 20k per week. All in dollars or euros.

My point is that, Seville is performing badly because they're not adapting to the teachings of Pementa; it's a coaching problem and not about payment even though payment is equally important. The players at Betis are earning way less and giving it all for Pellegrino.
