Why is it so difficult for Dangote to publicly announce the price he intend to sell to marketers? He has been very vocal about a lot of things this year but now that it’s time to sell, he is keeping quiet about the price.

It is the fault of Nigerians to believe Dangote was on their side. He never made such claims.

Someone that has only fought for his pocket, i even believe the way the price skyrocketed it was in anticipation of the opening of his refinery

That means NNPCL will resell at almost close to N1,000/litre.

Dint you see in the news few weeks ago when Dangote was saying this? He said the price of fuel is not in his powers. Govt decides what they want to sell to the public.

Dangote buys crude from the govt and sells back petrol to the govt.

Remove all subsidy now . Let Nigerians buy at 1000-1200. This is the best time to do it.

As long as there is a form of subsidy , the fuel will always find its way into neighboring countries . Since our immigration , police etc are useless to secure our borders , let Nigerians suffer more . Atleast there won’t be any more excuses of subsidy payment .

If it’s cheap fuel that we are going to gain then let it be. Smuggling or no smuggling should not be out business top priority .

I sensed a political game in this fuel cost of a thing, because I wonder why Dangote can’t be selling to the marketers directly rather than firstly sells to NNPCL while NNPCL sell to the markers ....

What stops NNPC from telling Nigerians how much they buy petrol from Dangote? At least that one is owned by the government.

NNPC is likely to subsidize the fuel and sell at 580 in all their retail stations.

What law says that he must make a formal announcement?

I mean he is buying crude from you at the international price and you expect him to make a formal announcement?

I don't understand why people get too sentimental.

Dangote is not FG. Dangote is a business man. In business for his own interests and going concern.

If making a formal announcement jeopardizes his going concern, why would a prudent businessman do so?

Dangote knows he is walking a tight rope here. And he knows what he had to do to pull off the refinery stunt.

He wont make any false moves at this point until he is fully steady

No sir na free, very soon. Nigerians is the only country where everyone keep stealing from government offices, market places individually shady deals through corruption and they want everything from government to be free. They complain about cost of everything as if nigeria is producing anything. Dangote will kill us with price cos he is a business man lets know this for once. Except crude is being supplied to him free of charge.

Dangote is a blackmailer
This price is too high.
He freely rode on Nigerians to achieve this refinery.
All the imported hardwares were tax free, free import taxes, etc. Free free access to forex at official rate. Crude supply in naira etc.
He wants to recoup all money spent in a month or what? his selling price to nnpc shouldnt be more that N400, from nnpc to the last enduser shouldnt be more than N500

It all depends on the federal government. If they give him crude at a giveaway price not minding the price at the international market, they can negotiate for him to produce for the nation's consumption at a lower price.

The reason why nnpc is the sole buyer of Dangote petrol is to sell for us at a cheaper price. They are trying to pay subsidy on a low key.

That is not true. It is because the govt still want to be in control of the downstream sector. Remember NNPC was the sole importer selling to the marketers before Dangote refinery comes on board

Can Dangote please come out to publicly tell us his price? For the past two weeks, NNPC told marketers to go and buy from Dangote and they refuse. Why did they refuse to buy from the refinery? What’s the price Dangote is offering them? We need all the information to be made public. Transparency is very important.

It is a lie. Nnnpc can't allow marketers to buy directly from Dangote refinery. You want to shut nnpc out of the downstream sector business. NNPC still want to be in total control of the downstream sector. Why are they destroying modular refineries

Do you know how much govt is selling crude oil to Dangote. If the govt is selling crude to Dangote at the current international price, there is no way he can sell petrol cheaper to NNPC. Govt is the one determines everything.

By now, you still haven't realised yet that NNPC/L is the one dictating price and sale method to DR. NNPC changed suddenly their price to 900 per litre overnight even when DR hasn't sold a single drop of petrol to them. Then, they announced that they are going to be the sole buyer of DR petrol.
If DR doesn't play the game, they will frustrate his life and make his investment worthless. FG will be making profit from the DR for every litre he sold out. By profit, I meant the reduction in price that normally should have gone to the masses/public

It's a welcome development. Now I wonder how much the independent marketers will sell to us
It's a good start at least subsidy remains . And the price can only go down as the value of naira increases. I'm very happy that at least the product will flood the market. And remember the Port-Harcourt refinery will start working soon. Once it's privatisation is completed God bless Nigeria

ALL our previous refineries are outdated, Nigerians should be demanding for new modern refineries
