These guys are just messing with Nigerians because of their collective foolishness. 950 for something produced at our very own backyard? I thought they said the price is high because we are importing? Now what's the excuse? They said it will reflect global oil prices but watch as the price will remain high if eventually crude falls at the international market.

Can anyone who really comprehends explain to me in simple English why NNPC has to be the entity to fix the price for Dangote or any other? I thought it transited sometime ago from government regulator of petroleum prices to a PLC, a competing entity just like Dangote.

How can this be when his mouth just said the NNPC does not control pricing? Why would we believe if Dangote drops the price Oct 1 ... NNPC drops the price to the marketers ... that the marketers will drop the price to the retailers? ... and ...the retailers will drop the price to the consumers? So many miracles cannot happen in a sequence that fast.

By 2027 we will know if people are truly tired of this government until then we are in for tougher times ahead.

What is 1000 per liter??
When NNPC was selling at 850 independent marketers were selling 1150 to 1350, now NNPC has increased it to 992 u are talking about 1k? I knew they were still going to increase it after the 850 price, reason fuel remained scarce

Why can't the FG return subsidy on DRL's petrol since importation cost is now out of the way

Give him crude in Naira, offtake from him at say N850/ltr and subsidized to Nigerians at say N600/ltr

what else are the citizens getting from Nigeria? Nothing!

The bottom line is that Dangote refinery gate price is $0.55, multiply it with the prevailing exchange rate.

Dangote himself cannot set the price of PMS, the government does it. They sell crude oil to him, they have a stake in his refinery. Dangote is a private figure, baba has to, will, must play along.

I don't think this is a good prayer anymore considering what is happening with dangote refinery. When we were importing fuel Nigerians were buying fuel at 610 to 700, now we have a local refinery, we are now buying fuel for above 1k, obviously this their 992 won't take up to 3 months before they increase it again. Can't u see the fuel importation was more favourable? Even if we refine fuel locally, Nigerians won't still be able to afford it! So what's the point?

As usual, the fools don't even know that the worst has just begun. Let me explain, even though fools still won't understand.

Fuel is gonna be expensive yea, but that is not all, you will still queue likely everyday to buy it. It will not be ready available anytime soon, maybe not even a year from now.

Cos only 1 full tanker will cost approx 50m naira, ONLY NNPC and a few big players eg Bovas will have the financial muscle to buy stock, meaning all the small players with small petrol stations will never open again. Even the Bovas will not buy stock everyday compared to when fuel was affordable. 10 Bovas station would amount to a bill of 500m, if na you would you be spending that everyday?? Meaning only the NNPC, will readily have fuel, meaning queues. The era of readily getting fuel anywhere is basically dead and gone for the foreseeable future. So much for fuel subsidy removal as a solution to all problems as touted by nairalanda1.

God go punish APC for making the naira toilet paper. We will not be in the hapless hopeless state, if they just kept the naira strong till this refinery started. I don't see any respite anytime soon. You will buy fuel at high rates and still toil and queue to find/buy it.

It is because the govt wants to remove subsidy completely, they were still subsidy all along.

with Dangote fuel now out they will want to take out subsidy completely thereby making the price still high.

FG needs to return subsidy even with Dangote's fuel, else the Nigerian people will continue suffering

what's the essence of making more money for the Govt while the people suffers? More money in the hands of govt both at federal and state levels has never translated to better living for the people of Nigeria.

The price went up. It didn't crash. NNPC is selling 885 in benin, by the time dangote fuel gets to benin it will be higher than this 950

That is not true...landing cost for lower quality pms is around 1100.Government was subsizing to bring it to around 700.Why cant govt subsidize jst 30% of wat itwas doing before to bring it to around 700.bear in mind we were subsidizing for neigboring countries too bt that will all become a thing ofpast...therefore cost of subsizing will be far lower.Its either that or giv dangote cheap crude to exchange for products.
