Edo: ElectionWithoutDeception Trends As Nigerians Demand Transparency by Josepholome(op): 10:53am On Sep 16, 2024
Nigerians are rallying on social media, trending the hashtag #ElectionWithoutDeception, as they call for a transparent and credible governorship election in Edo State.

With the election approaching, citizens are urging the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the Nigeria Police to ensure a free, fair, and impartial process.

Amid concerns about potential manipulation and interference, the hashtag has been used by thousands to express their commitment to safeguarding the democratic process.

Social media is buzzing with demands for INEC to act with integrity, ensuring that every vote counts and that the people’s choice is respected.

Many posts echo the sentiment that any attempt to rig or tamper with the election will be met with resistance.

One popular tweet reads: “The people of Edo deserve a transparent, credible election. No room for manipulation or interference. #ElectionWithoutDeception”.

Others are calling on the Nigeria Police to maintain neutrality and protect the electoral process, with posts like: “Nigeria Police, protect the democratic process. No interference, no intimidation, just a free and fair election. #ElectionWithoutDeception”.

The campaign also emphasized the importance of voter empowerment, urging Edo residents to remain vigilant and participate actively in the election.

Another tweet warned: “Edo will resist any form of election rigging. The people's voice must be heard! #ElectionWithoutDeception”.

The movement is not just local but has drawn the attention of Nigerians worldwide.

Many are warning that the world is watching and that any form of manipulation or electoral fraud will not go unnoticed.

Recall that the Edo governorship election will be held this Saturday, September 21, 2024.

The frontline candidates for the election are Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party.

Election without deception is not possible with APC. The whole world knows that. But it will not last forever. The people will arise one day and take back their country.

The set of politicians in offices right now are worst than animalzzzzzzzz

If the president understands that he controls the means to people ends and hope of actualizing their dreams then they won't be misbehaving the way they are thinking the country is their personal business..

Re: Edo: ElectionWithoutDeception Trends As Nigerians Demand Transparency by Bobloco:
I hope the good people of Edo State are not sitting by, creating hashtags on social media demanding transparency because that will be the greatest mistake of their lives. You don't demand transparency and accountability from a notorious narcotics drug trafficker, certificate forger, buccaneering power grabber engaging in criminal state capture.

You demand transparency and accountability by getting involved, by going out there to vote, by protecting your vote and ensuring that it is counted and uploaded and seen to have been uploaded on IREV.

Tinubu doesn't know what it means to be transparent and accountable because he is not a democrat and has never been a democrat. Events of the past few months have shown that Tinubu is worse than Idi Amin Dada and an incarnate of Adolf Hitler.

INEC and the security agencies are the major problem of Nigeria Electoral System. If these two are neutral, Nigeria and Nigerians won't be were they are now.

Do " Edo no be Lagos" and vote. The last time didn't pan out so well. wink

But I have no bone to pick, totally neutral.

Seems PDP has best candidate, LP too is okay but APC chose a mediocre candidate. Up to you, Edo folks - vote the ugliest as per stereotype on Nairaland.

Some people do not like when things are done the right way. If you even tell them to do the right thing they will start getting angry. People like that will do anything for money, but in the end they still end up getting married to poverty

Nigerias election losers will always claim deception.
They will never accept that they lost.
Even ordinary tailor organization, doctor organization, even market organization election, the loser will always cliaim that they have been cheated. My estate association election, the loser claimed the he was cheated, he said he was ganged up against.
People need to understand that there will be losers and winners in election.
The sad part is that even the loser and the winner probably cheated during the whole process.

For where? No repentance. That religion is opium for those who embrace its expansionism ideologies.

Mahmood Yakubu is using INEC to contribute his own Quota to the program of the leaders of the Sharia states for Islamization of Nigeria.

They will still rig for APC.
If not, who can cast a vote for APC after seeing what APC did against Nigeria?
