The summary is that under this arrangement, everyone but nnpc will be reduced to a middleman. 950 is still a subsidized rate. The cost after importation will be too high compared with nnpcs rate. |

Fuel price increases from d moment Dangote started crying about d availability of his useless refinery. The fools praising him should know that imported things are always cheaper than home made. Markers buy fuel abroad as low as #200 per liter before they pay for clearing ,tax, etc which is inflated during this Tinubu regime. |

I said it yesterday on another thread. Let IPMAN import petrol and sell at their desired price and let’s have competition in the market. |

Everything that works smoothly around the world, when it comes to naija, k leg must enter. Too many mouths and interests involved from the highest level to the lowest. Other places, a local refinary opens, prices drop drastically. In naija, a brand new one opens, prices skyrocket. No be juju be dat? |

Biodun556:NNPCL account balance is negative cause they are all the profits thru subsidy scams. They never admitted to being the sole importers of the fuel until recent times. Now they have become the sole offtakers of Dangote fuel. Meaning they can either tell us any amount as what they are paying as subsidy for Dangote fuel or any amount they are using to buy/transport the product. HEADS or TAIL, NNPC still wins. It's a double edged sword. |

frog12:Why are you confusing yourself? The same marketers who claim Dangote's petrol is more expensive than when imported told us in June, that landing cost (outside of profit), is 1117 Naira. |

NNPC is the problem and culprit here, even though Dangote is not entirely fault free. The secrecy is there because NNPC paid Dangote with crude oil to be supplied in future but can't come out to say this See what NNPC said earlier this month "NNPC also declared that Dangote and other domestic refineries were free to sell directly to any marketer on a willing buyer, willing seller basis, adding that it had no desire or intention to become the distributor for any entity in a free market environment." And NNPC still remain the sole importer of petrol bin Nigeria as reported by punch earlier this month The PUNCH reports that while licensed individuals have been importing diesel into Nigeria, NNPC remains the sole importer of petrol under the current administration. |

mojid22000:There is no controversy. Marketers have been making a windfall from subsidy over the years. In June, they told us that petrol landing at the port would is at 1117 Naira. Which means they need to add their profit, and government should pay subsidy. Now that Dangote is less than 1000 Naira, they claim importing is cheaper. Criminals. |

That big behemoth of corruption Nnpc are the real villains in all of this. They crippled the refineries and now have raised their ugly heads again on Dfl. Refining crude is not rocket science. Is it not what these creek boys do with reckless abandon yet a big corporation that has existed for years cannot do it. We are in need of patriots right now in this country. The criminals in power are not ready to lose their grip on the throats of poor Nigerians. |
