Holding a Nigeria passport now, identifies you as a citizen of a lawless, fraudulent and corrupt country.

My dad was flying from NYC to Lagos last week, with a stopover in Morocco. At the airport his hand luggage was flagged for being over the recommended limit. He didn’t make a fuss and went on to reduce it.

The lady at the desk said the allowance was 6kg but Dad’s luggage was 9.5kg.

Whilst she held on to his Nigerian passport, my dad proceeded to taking more stuff out of his suitcase.
Meanwhile, the next desk had another passenger, a US citizen, who was flying on the same flight as him.

Dad noticed the guy’s luggage weighed 11.5kg and the lady was ok with it. He got mad and flagged it up, they couldn’t justify why the other guy was allowed.

Being a very blunt man, he asked the lady if it had anything to do with his Nigerian passport and the color of his skin? She felt embarrassed and did not reply him.

My Dad then brought out his own US passport(although she never asked him if he had another nationality) and told the lady at the counter she deserves to be fired.

He then proceeded to put back all the stuff he took out of his suitcase in the first place, making it 9.5kg and told the lady if she won’t tag his suitcase he would “deal with her”🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️(I don’t support any form of violence)

She tagged it and allowed him to proceed to the departure lounge.

Nigerians has always been dehumanized and victimized when you present a Nigerian passport because of corruption that has tainted our democracy.

Today, we have a government ran by the worst, least qualified and most unscrupulous citizens that wears the evil, manipulative gloves of greed and arrogance, forcing Nigerians into a red alert state of shame and embarrassment when they see that green passport.

-The cut runs deeper!

Even when you have a foreign passport and your birth place still states Nigeria, you will still get that cold welcome.

Please! Don’t blame the government for the tainted reputation. The people tainted that image by themselves. Nigeria is not the only country with corrupt leaders, what makes us worst is that, we citizens are also as worst as our leaders.

Don't mind him. Plus Morocco? Those are racist. Everyone should know that, it doesn't matter if you hold the whitest passport on earth.

The best legacy you can give your children now is to take them out of Nigeria.

A friend’s mum came to Canada recently with Turkish air. Flight was delayed/ cancelled in turkey . She was told Nigerian passport holders were not eligible to be lodged in the hotel overnight. She spent over 48 hours on the trip and slept at the airport in turkey. I was like nawa

This doesn`t come as a surprice because Turkey "no get basic standard" , i can`t imagine surch a scenerio if you fly KLM or Air France.
The problem here is Turkey and not your nigerian passport.

From the OP`s initial story i would see the cause of the drama more being the personalty of the immigration officer rather than the nigerian Pee, there are some overzealous personalities out there.

What is also of relevance in such a case is knowing what goes in the locality you are flying, for example Ryanair hardly weighs your carry on luggage while flying within europe, also when you are entitled to carry a hand bag, you carry two instead Ryanair may ignore this.

As far as I can tell, that has been the new rule for more than six months. That is, the e-visa was scrapped for Nigerian passport holders and additional services were withdrawn.

What happened to Qatar Airways? It has better service compared to Turkish Airlines.

The first mistake was having anything to do with landing in Morocco (aside from a standard business program/conference/reason). I don't see why our people, most especially our women, spend their time and money in that country.

At the bold, DrChife on Twitter narrated a similar experience where he was delayed as he brought out his Nigerian passport only to be quickened down the queue when he flashed the American passport. His happened in a black African country. So, I am not surprised Morocco will do the same or even worse. As narrated on Twitter by our women, Moroccans left the swimming pool when they (Nigerian women) got in. Wetin dey Morocco if not sand and dust? The same sand and dust dey Namibia and Bauchi.

Third, the fall of the Nigerian passport ranking isn't necessarily the fault of the Nigerian government but Nigerians. Burkina Faso has visa free access to Singapore, but Nigeria does not. Look at this map: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_Singapore#Visa_policy_map
We and Mauritania are the only countries without visa free access to Singapore. Why? Our people trafficked drugs to Singapore in a spate of events and the SG govt retaliated by killing all the traffickers (a law in the country) and removing visa free access.

Is that the fault of any federal or state administration in Nigeria? N to the O.
