This is Cool, Allowing only Dangote to supply petroleum products will amount to monopoly which is even more dangerous. Opening the market for others to import will bring about the needed competition and price war that will benefit the masses. |

Dangote Refinery's intention is to Monopolize The Market, Thank God There is Window for Deregulation. Even Though Imported Fuel Seems to be Far More Cheaper |

Good, but the NNPC should not be the sole buyer of the Dangote petrol, let every marketer buy directly from the refinery |

Antoeni:Probably they bring it cheaper and sell same price as dangote. Or they aren't bringing anything and will just be selling locally refined crude from one small modular refinery. |

Antoeni:I don't think he can do that at 25 million liters per day, when our needs are above 60 million liters per day, even taking smuggling out of the account. |

Antoeni:una go just de speak english. is it dangote that is the monopoly or NNPC? which competition are you expecting and what is the benefit of the competition when NNPC has already fixed price of fuel? where is the price war coming from? |

Antoeni:nnpc has fixed price and you are talking of deregulation. how is that deregulation? how is nnpc hijacking the dangotes fuel and preventing him from supplying to the market himself the same thing as deregulation? |

No problems. As long as they source for their own forex and dont pressure the local forex market unnecessarily. |

Antoeni:It's not cool at all because we are still mortgaging our economy to other countries. Our Naira will continue to depreciate. The only competitors Dangite needs are other local refineries to come on board. Petrol importation wash away most of our foreign reserve. It's better we manage Dangote's price for now until after October when the Naira swap for crude/petrol come into fruition. Dangote refinery (for now) is necessary 'evil'. |

I watched a video yesterday and it explained that why the Dangote fuel is expensive is coz what he is selling to NNPC is the one he imported, that once he started selling the one NNPC gave him, price will go down, I do not believe that entirely though but it's logical, you don't expect Aliko to run his business at a loss. Blame the stupid people we've had at the helm of power all these years who couldn't build a single functional refinery all these years. Bunch of failures with stupid lies and gullible supporters |

nairalanda1:can you tell me the processes and ingredients that go into producing the fuel that makes it to cost N750 to refine a litre of fuel? who is responsible for the debt that has made debt servicing to eat 68% of revenue? |

The price is high because the first batch of crude oil Dangote imported was from America and he used dollars to source it. The refined product is what we’re getting now and he’s trying to make his profit back. The second batch of crude oil was from Nigeria which he paid naira for. That batch of refined product is going to be cheaper cause it was sourced locally. |

They said fuel landing cost was above 1k few months ago, and after "partial subsidy" was paid, its sold to Nigerians at below 1k... Ok, now we have a local refinery, why should fuel still be sold at near 1k in some regions ND above 1k in other regions. Are subsidy still going to be paid for locally refined fuel I am still yet to understand any of these. What exactly is the essence of having the biggest refinery in the world when we are still going to be buying at an all time high cost... If Dem explain Nigeria to you and you understand, Dem no explain am very well for you be that |

Antoeni:Only local refinery can compete with Dangote. Importers are given more room for him and NNPC to make more profit. |
