I dont think you understand how the oil and gas sector works.
The FG never asked DRL to buy in dollars as a matter of fact the FG was fully behind DRL buying in Naira.
What you need to understand is that the big players are the IOCs and globally crude is traded in dollars.
The IOCs will be running at a loss if they trade in Naira. And the government cannot force the IOCs to sell to DRL.

Please you guys should get knowledge about how this system works before you start getting emotional.
Ordinary mudloging wer I dey manage take put food for belle na usd we dey use transact and you want make IOCs trade in Naira, who go gree collect pop the naira from them
There is something called waivers, which can come in a form of an EO from the President, Nigeria should prioritize her citizens first.
Speaking of loses are your saying Nigeria was not running at a loss when they where paying Trillions of Naira for subsidies?
You talk about the IOCs (in this case crude oil supply) as if we are talking about an external entity, I want to ask you which country owns the crude oil being sold to Dangote?

Dangote no get wahala oo. Figures don't lie. Nigerians should know by now that the federal givernment is the enemy of their existence as Nigerians, not Dangote. Dangote is too soft. I'd have sued the federal government for sabotage long before now. Cos he will be losing big time cos of interest on the loan he took to build the refinery, if it doesn't pay back asap.

I read earlier today that nnpc said they'd appoint 3 marketers to import petrol cos Dangote can't meet their demand. Same Dangote was accused of refining substandard diesel, of which he was able to prove them wrong. Same dangote had fire outbreak in his refinery which was quickly put out ahead of the prediction date. They're frustrating him left, right and centre and thhs is a good reason investors are running away from us

Oando is one of those 3 marketers earmarked for importation of petrol into Nigeria and guess who owns oando by proxy? The petrol will come from his malta blending facility and that's why they're accusing dangote of not meeting up with the supply requirements grin

Only revolution will end thhs drama. Sadly, their useless supporters will never learn.
Please show us evidence that Oando is one of those 3 marketers earmarked for importation of petrol and their acceptance to do that.

Dangote is not a Saint.. He is not a Messiah
You think a billionaire will spend $10000000 billion of his money to build refinery.
And sell his fuel cheap at 600 per litre grin grin
You must be dreaming and hallucinating

Dangote want to make MONEY!!!!
No billionaire builds refinery to sell cheap. How he wan take recup him money plus make profit??

According to Burna Boy
Dangote Dangote Dangote still dey find Money

So don't expect dangote to sell at cheap price. The man no send una papa grin grin
He is here to make profit

The problem is that Dangote want to join and chop and benefit but the Cabals won't let him so easily.
If 200 million plus Nigerians start buying Dangote fuel.
Dangote will monopolize fuel sector and cash out massively.
So the cabals won't just sit down and watch Dangote come and shorten their huge profit.

Speaking of the powerful cabals
When you look at a Calamity in a nation
Ask yourself. Who is benefitting from Calamity

If I am a wicked Doctor,
I want to be in a village where there is Sickness
I will have more patients and make money

If I'm a Cabal
I want my country to be filled with darkness
So that people will buy and depend on fuel
And make 100 billion every week

That is the situation of Nigeria
Many Cabals are benefiting from Calamity

If you fix Nigeria now
Many Cabals will go out of business

If you give Nigerians 24/7 electricity
The petroleum cabals will lose billions because the demand for fuel will reduce.

So you think the "Cabals" will sit down and watch Nigeria get 24/7 electricity grin grin grin
They will rather burn the country down
Than allow Nigerians to get 24/7 electricity

Tinubu can't do anything
The day Tinubu decide to reduce fuel price
The cabals will bring this country down
They will frustrate his 3 more years and make his govt. ungovernable with crisis

The cabals are more powerful than president
Infact Tinubu knows this and won't cause any issue. That's why he can't do anything about fuel price. This one pass am!! It's too deep

My Advice to Tinubu is DON'T FIGHT CABALS DIRECTLY
Fix Electricity in Nigeria
Introduce Electric cars and make them affordable

If Tinubu can fix the power sector alone
Cabals will be out of business

Do you know how much the Petroleum Cabals are making from selling fuel at 1500 per litre?
These mafia are making 100 billion per week

And you think they will want fuel price to reduce?? I laugh in Chinese
This is so deep 🤔

Looking at the document below, it's crystal clear that Dangote Refinery can boost Nigerian economy and bring down petroleum prices.

Right now he is buying a barrel of petrol at the equivalent of $72 per barrel (which is N117 Naira per barrel).

- each barrel produces 85 liters of petrol (which is about %53 of what comes out of a barrel of crude oil).

- When Dangote starts selling in Naira from the 1st of October, it will relieve the pressure on Naira by 40%. Because importation of petroleum products accounts for %40 of the Forex demand currently.

- when there is 40% less demand for Forex for importation, the Naira will strengthen to about N1000 to $1.

- that means Dangote will be using N72,000 to buy each barrel of crude oil as against the N117, 000 that he is using to buy each barrel right now.

- with that, the pump price will drop by about %40. (From N1000 per liter of petrol to N600 per liter of petrol).

- They stronger Naira will also help reduce the inflation that is biting Nigerians right now.
Not with Tinubu borrowing loans to pay loans, CBN printing trillions of naira daily, banks being recapitalized or minimum wage been increased in naira. Forget about naira appreciation and price reduction and plan how to survive the disaster awaiting Nigeria been an oil dependent economy when renewable energies and electric cars are taking over. Dangote refinery is a futureless project.

(1) Jordan and many other Arab Gulf countries are also oil dependent economies yet no disaster. So your assertion is wrong.

(2) It will take more than a decade for Nigeria and other African countries to totally switch to electric cars. It hasn't even happened yet in the US, Europe, Australia, China, India, Canada etc. Despite the available infrastructure. So you are wrong again about that.

NNPC should only ensure that the petrol or all products are safe. They are to regulate standards not to sell at this point

You are one of the few who seem to understand the game Tinubu and his comrades in crime have been playing in the oil market.
He has successfully sold a narrative to some morons, that importation is meant to curtail Dangote's monopoly. Some fools have actually swallowed this hook line and sinker and are here pontificating about it.
All the dramatic hike in thr price of pms was all planned out to prepare the market for the sales of his products from malta through OVM.
Dangote, who has the capacity to supply fuel to the whole of west Africa and beyond, is now unable to meet up with Nigerias demand, hence they have to import to fill up the gap. This is another cooked up narrative for some dull Nigerians.
Nigerians can believe anything shall, that's why I think we deserve all the shit we get from our leaders.

Very soon NNPC will be retired by Dangote. They are just trying to appear as if they are still relevant to the country.

It is the same Middle Eastern countries that have a booming tourism industry which is one the largest forex avenue compare the to the peanut called oil money.
The China is mentioned has the largest number of electric cars by country while Europe is number one by continent with China been the major supplier. The African you are looking up to has more electricity and electric cars, trains than Nigeria.
