Very well said. This is a civil discourse. Not the hatred laden hallucinations of the obi...diots.

Hmm 🤔 . Comment from political parties over Tinubu harsh economic policies.

Nigeria’s economy in shambles — NNPP’s Ajadi

A business mogul and frontline politician in the country, Ambassador Olufemi Oguntoyinbo, has called on the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to save Nigerians from serious hardship currently being witnessed in Nigeria.

This is as he also alerted the government of the sorry state of the country’s economy which he said is already making it a laughing stock in the eyes of the world.

Ajadi, in a statement on Tuesday lamented that Nigeria and its citizens are losing respect not only in Africa but throughout the world calling on President Tinubu to do something for the country to regain its rightful position among the comity of Nations.

Ajadi knocks NNPCL over petrol price increase

He particularly expressed his worries on the deregulation of the oil sector which gives room for different prices of petroleum products by different marketers, warning that the fate of Nigerians should not be left in the hands of few bourgeois.

Ajadi, who was the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the last general elections reminded the All Progressives Congress, ( APC) administration that the current exchange rate of Naira has shown how valueless our currency has become, saying the price of foodstuffs have also gone beyond the reach of the common and average Nigerians.

He warned that the government should remember that in few years time it will face the electorate, saying if the administration abandon the people now, how will it stand up to demand for their votes.

According to him: “Nigerians are currently experiencing the worst form of life now. The deregulation of petroleum products’ prices by the government has led to people buying the products at different prices from the marketers. As of today, many Nigerians’ are buying petrol at between N1000 and N1200. This is absurd. Few months back, the price was N695. How will Nigerians’ cope with this high prices.

“The country’s economy is in comatose with the cost of foodstuffs going to the roof. Rice is unaffordable. The gari, elubo and even pepper that are believe to be common are also in high prices. The new minimum salary agreed to by the government is not yet implemented by the government, making an average workers unable to go their offices.

“Governors instead of cooperating with the federal government in finding lasting solutions to the problem are giving workers days to work from home. What of those who have something to do with government, will they go to civil servants at their homes to carry out such transactions?
“As it is now, the country is parading two different sets of One thousand Naira, Five hundred Naira and Two Hundred Naira Notes, giving room for production of fake Naira Notes. To worsen the situation, the current exchange of Naira has made the country’s currency worthless in comparison to Dollars, Pound Sterling and even the neighbouring countries’ currencies.

“I am very sad that Nigeria’s currency can no longer compare favourably with Ghana Cedis and West Africa Coast CFAs. That is the reality we are in now. Anybody still calling Nigeria the giant of Africa is economical with the truth. One Ghanaian Cedi now exchange for almost N106. CFAs too has dumped Naira behind.

“How did we get to this sorry state?. The government and business leaders in Nigeria as well as our academia must stand up now and let’s do whatever we need to do to improve our economy. We cannot continue like this. All hands must be on deck to rescue our economy.

“I call on President Tinubu to seek the support of the former Presidents and technocrats in the country to get the country out of this doldrum.
“This issue is beyond playing politics. President Tinubu should call for a Summit of All Political Parties’ Leaders to pally and come out with solutions to problems confronting our nation.”

to be sincere with you, I don’t votes for Tinubu in 2023 presidential election 🗳. It just that Nigeria electorates aren’t educated to know the leader they want to votes. The worst government so far in Nigeria history is Tinubu government. The economy is unbearable.

But it is not supposed to be like this

Must somebody be connected to power to be able to survive in Nigeria? It is just too bad.

That is why Nigeria is soooo backward even in a democracy

Democracy is supposed to mean liberty and prosperity

What we have today is oppression of the masses with all manner of Draconian policies while the leader live large in opulence and splendor.

If not that the stupid western countries are ones backing and supporting these terrible leaders

See how some ppl are defending PBAT grin
1 why PBAT also endure by using his private Jet instead of buying the humongous luxury one,
2 why not continue with PMB 001 instead of buying new 1.5B Escalade as official car.
3 Why not PBAT reduce any form of overseas travelling except the UN general assembly, Abacha, and OBJ hardly travel during their time and heaven didn't fall
4 Since he is stinkily wealthy and want us to sacrifice why not suspend his salary till the economy stabilize.
Take it or leave it PBAT government body language is against what he preaches, and I am more worried about those who still think that something meaning is coming.
E.g. we where promised that Dangote refinery will reduce the cost of PMS and PH refinery will come on board by the 3rd quarter. We all know what happens to all these empty promises. PBAT government has nothing to give except bag of rice and palliatives grin . Use your head in 2027 else Zimbabwe+Yemen+Venezuela might be a paradise When compared to Nigeria. Ire oo

Which Ghana cedi did you say is more valuable than the naira?

Please just use 10 Ghana cedi to buy anything in Ghana, I want to check something.

If I wasn't in Ghana I for fall for this.

I'm not defending tinubu administration though, I'm so disappointed in this emilokan man as well. But that doesn't mean we should say things that aren't correct just to make our point otherwise it begins to look like propaganda.

The Builder in Chief is on duty.
According to him "these are painful decisions" that must be taken.

I just hope Nigeria won't end up a graveyard by the time he's done.
Painful decisions like buying a new jet worth billions while Nigerians are getting a congo of rice palliative instead of jobs for a living wage earned in dignity?
No be juju be that? Na who do us this thing huh

BeeBeeOoh:
Former Nigerian Military Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, has expressed concerns over the country’s economic hardship, stating that it is “getting out of control.”

Abubakar stated this while receiving the leadership of the Campaign for Democracy and Human Rights, led by Abdullahi Mohammed Jabi, who visited his uphill residence in Minna, Niger State, on Tuesday.

He noted that many Nigerians struggle to afford basic needs like food and transportation.

“Everybody is crying about this hardship and it seems to be getting out of control, people cannot afford three square meals.

“The issue of transportation, the hike in fuel, the hike in school fees for the children and the lack of funds in everybody’s pocket is making life difficult for everybody,” the elder statesman observed.

Gen. Abubakar disclosed that he belongs to a forum that had passed three recommendations to the federal government on the way out of the economic hardship, as giving out palliatives is not the solution to hikes in food and other commodities across the nation.

He suggested the government should provide affordable food options by buying and selling essential items at lower prices.

According to him: “There is a need for government to flood and saturate the communities with food, let them (government) buy food and sell it at lesser prices to the people so that people will try to buy some of these food items depending on their pockets and income.”

Abubakar also urged peaceful protests ahead of the planned #EndBadGovernance demonstration on October 1, recalling the violence and looting that marred previous protests.

He lamented: “During the last protest, we saw unnecessary, uncalled for carnage, theft and criminalities; instead of protesting, the people went about looting even private houses; private individuals suffered in the hands of the demonstrators.”

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Abdullahi Jabi, told the elder statesman that they were in his residence to rejoice with him on the celebration of his birthday, and prayed for long life and good health for him.

He also urged Gen. Abubakar to help prevail on the federal government to solve the problem of hardship and hunger in the land while soliciting his assistance for the implementation of some of its programmes.
