Three GOLD🥇🥇🥇 medals for Gombe!!

Gombe state only registered one athlete for the National Youth Games, Munyal Kwairanga Simon, and what an outing she had for her state, winning three GOLD medals in Gymnastics🤸‍♀️

The 13-year old Munyal came out tops as the overall best, then won the Vault and also the Floor events.

Interestingly at the last edition, Munyal was denied her medals when she competed for Ogun state, after it was found out that they did not register her properly. This year, she represented Gombe, and is now leaving with three GOLD medals.

She overcame all odds and shine bright like a diamond! Her name sounds like our swahili folks.

I wonder why the event did not get a proper online coverage as i would have love to see them in action. We are missing out on a lot of school sport and youth championship followership in Nigeria

She should be groomed for the Olympics, but na Naija we dey. She can only get that attention if her parents move her abroad, left here Nigeria might just happen to her.

Aboki no dey cheat for sports,some people would cheat systematically to win at national level but fizzled out internationally because they can't beat the advanced detection systems up there.

You never see names. In the Tangale tribe of south Gombe there are names like "MAYAMBA". That name is found in other African countries too.

These are FULANI names or words. In Fulani, MUNYA means Patience. KWAIRANGA means Easy. The girl is likely to have been brought up by a Fulani person or one of the parents (most likely the mother) is Fulani. Congratulations to the girl indeed. The medals 🏅🥇🥇 can be taken away but the talent cannot because it's inbuilt in the girl. It's good that she went and played for the actual state she comes from.
