Lifestone:Let him export the products as pay his taxes ..why is he now a whistle blower ....It is built in an export processing zone Must the marketers buy from him. The chairman of his refinery , otedola says marketers should sell their depots as scraps ...why Is he looking for their patronage again |

adenigga:So because Dangote have started producing fuel, the ones we have been using for years is now bad fuel, forgetting that NNPC was importing the same fuel up until now. Shame on Dangote Refinery and NNPC for trying to monopolize the oil sector. |

Wickedfact:Dangote has never monopolized cement, and it's not new that Dangote cement is not the best and it's not also the most expensive |

Wickedfact:Did Dangote stopped BUA, Leferage and others from producing Cement, why haven't those start selling cement at N600/bag as you want, since Dangote price is the problems. You claimed there's no job in Nigeria and here's someone who has stakes his resources to create the job. I was at the Dangote Refinery complex and was shocked at the numbers of jobs both directly and indirectly. Why will Nigerian sides with the evil cartel to frustrate DRL |

Themandator:He's asking for a level playing ground. I'm sure you have siblings looking for jobs, the job is already gone with textile factory closures. Face the fact, let all these marketers come together and build Refineries and compete. This is how you guys heckled that led to the reversal of the PH Refinery because of your hates. What did you achieved, you played into the scripts of the cabal. Not this time again |

Wickedfact:Your problem is that you like dealing with issues at peripheral rather than tackle the details. With your likes in Nigeria, the country will find it difficult to move on. Emotions and sentiments is what serious issues will be reduced to. You know the price yourself, you don't need to ask me. |

themanderon:In every climate in the world, every capitalist wants to maximise his profit, it is the government, the regulatory bodies that hold him in check. Instead of blaming Dangote, blame your politicians. Don't forget that Dangote still have courage to set something up in Nigeria which I can tell still benefits the people. He should be encouraged for daring to enter the stormy ocean the politicians who steal your money abandoned to set up refineries abroad. Or are you not aware those who steal your money have refineries abroad from where they import fuel in? You prefer their method to Dangotes? |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Lifestone(m): 9:07am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Wickedfact:You can make your points without being rude. It's obvious that you missed the dynamics of what transpired. Before now, NNPC was the sole importer of PMS because they provided under recovery of cost (subsidy) and all the marketers buy from them. Landing cost is average of about N1,100/liters. NNPCL sells at about N550/liters meaning they are providing N500/ liters in subsidy. Now with Dangote fuel coming on stream at N766/liters, NNPC has now completely removed his hands from subsidy and passed on 💯 cost plus profit to Nigerians. I had expected that rather than completely remove subsidy they should have allowed maybe a N300/liter to reduced their cost and support Nigerian. Whatever savings Dangote brought has been hijacked by NNPC. |

Dangote wants to monopolize the sector. He'll bite more than he can chew. If importing will help bring down the price, they should import. It's capitalism. The lowest prices should win |

Christ4ever:Many of you are beginning to see clearly what we have been saying about dangote. All fingers crossed till October 1st when he will begin to buy crude from nnpcl in naira. The price he will announce will determine if marketers will continue importation or not. If dangote decides to sell petrol to marketers at higher cost after purchasing crude in naira, marketers will continue to import fuel and Nigeria may be forced to start selling crude to hom in dollars while dangote continues to export his products. |

Whoever wrote this piece is an ID10T! Who are the domestic refiners and other than Dangote, what is their contribution to product availability in Nigeria, How are they getting their crude ( Not from NNPC for sure)? How come that since the coming of Dangote refinery there's this talk of quality of PMS, is it not the same substandard quality they've been importing and Nigerians have been using for several years now? If importers feel they can get the fuel and make it cheaper and available to Nigerians more than what Dangote and NNPC are doing, then the question we should be asking is why NNPC is positioning itself as a sole buyer from Dangote? Why is a domestic refined product more expensive than imported one? Will NNPC come out to say they're still subsidizing the imports by IPMAN members? |

Which sub standard fuel? These people keep looking for ways to choke Nigerians. Let them import. If it is cheaper we go buy, if it is expensive we will leave it. Let us have alternatives. And it will help reduce the price. Besides, it is bad fuel and NNPCL has been selling it to Nigerians all these years abi na our dead refineries dey produce? |

bugu51:Do you need any logic to see clearly what’s going on? Where is the evidence of the dirtiness of the petrol please? Or you just thrive on sensation without asking simple questions? “How is what they import cheaper”? Do you know their source? Do you know their actual costs? Where is the evidence that Dangote, who refined locally here will be cheaper than their? Mr. Man by common sense, if Dangote sells at 895 as alleged and yet government subsidizes, what the difference with imported petrol? Are you not aware that it is in the place of Dangote to de-market imported fuel, just to create market for his petrol? Who sabotages the economy more between a man who has received waivers in trillions to establish the refinery and others who are disadvantaged in the corridors of power? A man who received over $3 billion in assistance from government to establish the refinery and others? |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by ElevationD: 9:59am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Lifestone:Sorry young man, textile mills were not killed by importers, but rather government did it. Have you ever wondered what happened to cotton production? Have you asked what happened with the horrible government policies? Look at rice today. Borders were shut because of favorable business conditions for locals producers. Today a bag of Nigerian produced rice stands at 100K. Imported rice at 120 and people have their choices. Local producers make it harder when we all know that Nigerian rice should not exceed 20K per bag. |

Faiththatworks:If you gotta be an internet bully, at least, you've gotta have cognitive substance, that for a start at least. I realized you're not worth the stress when I saw the comment below. How on earth did that even make any sense to you? You obviously don't understand basic Economics and I can't have an engaging discussion with you. "Did you just read the rubbish you wrote, you are accusing a man who built a Refinery of being afraid of Monopoly" |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Godfullsam(m): 10:05am On Sep 20, 2024 |
breezeng:See how you are confusing yourself. If dangote claim nnpcl intentionally jerked up price to enable importers compete, why didn't dangote announce his price by himself? Why is he insisting that nnpcl must be the sole uplifter of his refined product while other independent marketers are queuing and waiting for him to announce his price so they can begin lifting fuel from his refinery? Dangote wants to sell fuel at a very higher price than the imported fuel. He wants nnpcl to buy his fuel at a higher price and then subsidize it to Nigerians at affordable price while he pockets the subsidy. That is why he has resorted to calling the imported PMS 'bad products'. Just to justify his unreasonable high cost. If he means well, let him open his mouth and announce his price by himself. The man is just hiding behind nnpcl to create more hardship for Nigerians while nnpcl receive all the insults from Nigerians. |

tete7000:Please let a local industry die so that 300 million citizens can survive. It's Dangote's right to ask for tax holidays, duty waivers, etc to be able to compete favourably but to suggest a ban of cheaper option that bothers on livelihood of 300 million people in the interest of one capitalist's profit is evil. How many people do you imagine die daily because they can't afford drugs, food. How do indigent pupils continue school. Add the multiplier effect of Dangote's N1,000 fuel to their trouble. Nigeria supported with equity, supported the same project with unprecedented concessionary dollar allocation, and must now support it with the blood of its citizens. Let the project die already if it has to please. |

Aprocco:It is not Dangote raising the price, it is the government removing subsidy. Govt can buy from Dangote and sell at subsidized rate. You are mixing things up. All along the price has been high, but for subsidy. |

Wickedfact:You complain about unemployment all the time. Will imported fuel create employment? DRL creates employment while imported fuel creates employment in the producing country. Which one is better? |
| Re: Dangote Officials, Refiners Tackle Marketers Over Imported PMS by Wickedfact: 11:21am On Sep 20, 2024 |
Vision101:How much was fuel before Dangote started refining? How much is it now? How much is Dangote selling his fuel? Because Dangote will employ some thousands doesn't mean a Nation of more than 200M should suffer. |
