Councillor Linda Nelson Murray has been selected by Fine Gael to represent the party in the Meath West constituency at the next General Election. Party members selected Cllr Murray at tonight’s selection convention held in the Newgrange Hotel, Navan, which was chaired by Deputy Simon Coveney. Fine Gael have now chosen 58 General Election candidates in 37 constituencies. Councillor Nelson Murray said: “I am truly honoured to have been selected by the members of Meath West. I’ve lived and worked in this constituency all my life and now as I raise my family here. “I have always prided myself on understanding the issues that matter most to the people of Meath West, and being elected to Meath County Council has given me an even broader understanding of how local and national government work together and what can be delivered with the right influence and determination. “As a mother of two young girls, I understand the challenges parents face regarding childcare and I want to see more being done to facilitate working parents, particularly around the extended use of school buildings to provide on-site care. “Similarly, I want greater accessibility for mental health services, particularly for those in rural areas and farmers. I am passionate about the need to enhance the lives of people living with visible and invisible disabilities by offering Changing Places facilities and pushing for inclusive education for all, and this is something I would also prioritise if successfully elected. “In tandem with this, we need greater investment in rural infrastructure, to include climate change adjustments in our daily lives. And having campaigned for insurance reform for a number of years, my work will continue to support businesses, groups and charities. “Finally, I wish to pay tribute to outgoing TD Damien English, who has paved the way for me to have this wonderful opportunity. He leaves behind a rich legacy of service to the people of Meath West, which I hope to build on. He has been a mentor to me for some time, but more importantly, he has been and remains a good friend. I wish him much happiness in his next chapter.” https://www.finegael.ie/fine-gael-selects-councillor-linda-nelson-murray-to-contest-meath-west-constituency-in-general-election/

CyrusVI:Yes, she won that constituency in 2019. She won her previous election and the thread I did was clearly shows as “throwback”. She was the first black woman to win that particular constituency. https://www.finegael.ie/our-people/councillors/meath/navan/yemi-adenuga/

Zooposki:Why the abuse? Why do you hate successful people? Its 100% okay for them to prefer a local to her. Everyone should guide their territory and land judiciously

CyrusVI:I also love it that they are guarding their territory. All across the world, nationalist movement are gaining steam and people are being protective of their locality. Whether France, Ireland, Spain, and even UK, people dey para gan. This is what we want for Yorubaland too. |

Zooposki:Your new phrase is a negative term...Says alot about you Deltan, By the way, the objective is simple, we want to acculturate every Non-Yoruba in the South into ourselves, so, keep learning the language and taking the name |
