Bhella5:God bless Nigerian women for what if I may ask? For being complacent or being at peace with very bad governance & corruption in high places? I just remember the likes of Funmilayo Ransome Kuti of Abeokuta fame that fought for the abolition of Women taxation in Egbaland, Aba Women Riot, Margaret Ekpo & the likes. But what do you have today ....? |

Ugandan is so fked. One man rulling for decades . And one thing about it is that the police are extra ordinary active and nib any protest or dissent voice so fast. That country hardly witness any protest not to talk of a successful protest. This is so bad |

Lol. Quite funny. Lately, I have begun to see that Africa's political issues stem from the manner that the borders were drawn and, the nations were formed. Both Tinubu and Buhari have been accused of selecting majorly their tribesmen in political positions. But this is a trend that's actually rife across the African continent. While reading a book about looting in Africa (The looting machine); there was the trend of military dictators setting up militias manned and led by a loyal tribesman-usually a relative. In the book, I found examples such as Mamadou Tandja of Niger and Moussa Dadis Camara of Guinea (who actually survived a gunshot to the head) in the book. There's also the contemporary example of Sudan's Omar Al-Bashir whose militia, RSF, is violently contesting the Sudanese army. Regionalism is, in my own opinion, the solution to these problems. Tribalism is a very normal human way of thinking and it's not unique to Africans; I watched a recent news of a Japanese dancer, Junko Hagiwara, who won Spain dance competition. She was booed as she received the award; she was the first non-Spaniard to win the award. Self-governance of any group of people gives them confidence, and leads to healthy competition amongst the competiting regions. But forcing different ethnicities together anywhere can never bring progress, people have to learn to tolerate and accept others-it takes time and is usually hampered by social factors such as poverty, bad leadership. I was surprised, and glad to hear (from a friend I discussed the idea with) that Ghana actually ran on a regional model; no wonder they are stable! Our best leaders till date are still the ones that led us during the era of regional governance. |
