Nigeria Politics Is Full Of Hypocrisy, edo Stata As Case Study by haffaze777(op): 7:56am On Sep 23, 2024
recent political developments in Nigeria have been intriguing. In 2023, an incident involving Edos, Igbos, and Yorubas sparked tensions, with some individuals labeling the Yoruba people as tribalistic for dividing their votes among the APC, PDP, and Labor Party.

Fast-forward to the 2024 Edo gubernatorial election, where Edo State, often regarded as the 'Obedient headquarters,' seemingly shifted its support from the Labor Party to the APC candidate. This move has raised eyebrows, especially considering the state's previous stance.

One can't help but wonder how the reaction would have differed if a similar election outcome had occurred in Ogun State or any other South West state.

Every individual should be able to vote for whoever they think best represents their interests without fear of bullying or intimidation. People from Edo and Igbo states should respect others' voting choices and refrain from conflict. The priorities in Ogun State may differ from those in Enugu or Edo states, and voting for a candidate of one's choice shouldn't automatically make someone an enemy. Congratulations to the people of Edo State on their successful and peaceful election; may your elected governor exceed expectations.

I didn't see you say the same thing in 2023 ,when your Edo people threw venom at Yoruba because of GRV.

Stop this craziness Edo did not shift any support base. Yesterday you agreed that you cooked up results and announce yourself as winner with federal might.

In just 24 hours you now believe that Edo people genuinely voted and shifted support base to APC.

What type of reality are you creating for yourself?

Edo people are defending their actions of voting for APC instead for their labor party.dont twist it

IIGB0S are in the habit of claiming everyone is obidients when in reality it is not even nearly so. Edo did not shift anything because they were never obidients as you people make them to be.

Some people sat in their villages in Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra and declared Edo as obidient over twitter handles. Any one can post anything on twitter but does that reflect what is happening in reality?

I remember how South East people were declaring that all Nigerian youths are supporting Peter Obi because they felt since Igbo youths are supporting Obi, then all other youths of other tribes must support Obi. I used to laugh at such people because I am a northerner living in the north of Nigeria and I can tell you that northern youths do not even consider Peter Obi as a candidate in any form.

You don't have to spread lies, falsehood and propaganda just to make your point. It's unnecessary

1) Obi and his horde of Obidients are the biggest ph00ls in the history of Nigeria politics
2) The ignorance and foolishness of Obi and his obidients are beneficial to me and my kind

Anybody reading the utter crap you just posted would think only the Yoruba are entitled to vote in Lagos! In Lagos, we all were witnesses to how PVC collection was frustrated in areas you saw as ‘strongholds’ of the opposition, and in some cases people were frustrated from collecting their PVCs because they had the ‘wrong name’; we all saw how voter intimidation and actual beatings of those you assumed would not vote for your emilokan god occurred in the run-up to the gubernatorial election and actual election day in Lagos; we all saw how Ndigbo were specifically singled out and threatened for wanting to exercise their constitutionally guaranteed right to vote their choice of candidate (a Lagos indigene oh…no be say na Igbo)…..all this happening in a state that was the former capital of Nigeria and which ALL ETHNICITIES contributed in building, yet somehow you have made yourself to believe politics, business and governance in Lagos is for the Yoruba to decide and every other Nigerian should keep off! Last i checked, you and your quarrelsome ilk have not paid back to Nigeria all the billions spent on Lagos for you to feel you’re entitled to ‘own’ the state to the exclusion of others!

Only the discerning would have sussed that what transpired in the last gubernatorial election in Lagos was all about ensuring the survival of the Tinubu hegemony and control of Lagos politics and governance that has become the family ATM since 1999 to date! You saw what happened in the presidential election in the state, got spooked and went for broke in the gubernatorial one, damning all consequences! Keeping Lagos in the pockets of Tinubu and his family was a job that must be done!

Why are you still agonising over the last elections in Lagos!? Could it be that what’s left of your conscience is now pricking you, and you’re somehow trying to convince yourself that your criminal actions were justified!?

You see why i say you Igbo-hating, IPOB/Kanu hating ‘one Nigerianists’ are the biggest hypocrites Nigeria has had the misfortune to be saddled with!? You want ‘one Nigeria’ yet refuse to abide by the guidelines and dictates of its constitution!

On point!
There motto is to 'gum-bodi' with their 'lesser enemy' (and whyne them) to confront their 'greater enemy'.
The former will think the rabble-rousers love them not knowing they are been used to fight their battles by proxy.

All of them that wanted to commit suicide ontop gbarebo's matter suddenly had sore throat when it came to akpata's case.

They love no one but themselves!
Their "LP from top to bottom" mantra (obviously) is meant for other regions!

Doesn’t take much to strip you of all your pretentiousness and fake allusions to ‘dispassionate intellectual discourse’ does it!? You can’t defend your crass bigotry, greed, hypocrisy and idiocy so when all else fails, you resort back to factory settings and tell fellow Nigerians they can’t vote their choice in Lagos because Lagos ‘belongs to Tinubu the Yoruba and only they get to have a say in its politics and governance’! You say this with one corner of your mouth, and with the other corner you shout ‘one Nigeria’ like your life depends on it!

Dude, you’re free to make any kind of threats you wanna make seeing as you have no sense, but don’t accuse others of being hypocrites when you and your xenophobic ilk hold the candle for hypocrites nationwide!

what level of foolishness is this, Edo is largely obidient, not labour party dient, how does your brain even thinks that just because we supported obi for president and he ran under labour so automatically any Candidate that comes under labour would inherit obi's vote, only Ronu miscreants think like this. 2 you always claim igbos always like to interfer in Lagos politics that they should stay away from Lagos politics how then the yoruba Ronu miscreants cant do the same and stay away from Edo politics, the Edo elections didn't happen in Lagos neither did it occur in ogun or iragbiji, but nah una carry matter for head pass, the igbos you all love to hate have never been this involved or hate filled like what you all are doing to Edo state. Finally Edo is still obidient if a presidential election is to be held today in a free and fair manner obi will still floor Tinubu.

You missed the core of the guy's argument. Obedients voted APC they so much hated on Twitter but loved so much in secret. Deal with that first before returning to Lagos.
In other words, it's not about APC in Lagos, but for the desire of Igbos to decide who becomes the Governor of Lagos State.
