Lagos Indigenes In Pain As Lagos Government Destroy Their Houses by ch214(op): 4:50pm On Sep 23, 2024
Residents of Ayetoro community in the Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State have raised the alarm over the alleged demolition of their buildings by the Lagos State government officials, especially the Task Force and the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

The demolition, which reportedly took place on Monday without prior notice, has left thousands of families homeless and in distress, SYMFONI learnt.

One of the residents, Ajimuda Gbenga, told SYMFONI that some policemen and LASEMA officials came and demolished their building. According to the residents, it is a matter of urgency.

Efforts to get a response from the Lagos State Police Command spokesperson, Mr Benjamin Hundeyin, were unsuccessful as he has yet to answer calls nor respond to messages.

SYMFONI spoke to some of the residents who spoke in the local Yoruba language

The lesson here is that Lagos State Government is not tribalistic but are fair and equal in all they do.

But some people will never read it that way.

I laugh at yorubas who carried tribalism on their head like cap, tribalism is now fighting yorubas back: what goes around comes around; yorubas are now killing each other and destroying their fellow yoruba properties.

Lagos State already build a bigger and better estate for them called Timberville in Ikorodu with free housing units and all amenities for their timber business and it also adjoining the Lagos lagoon

There are modern saw mills, access roads, hospitals, schools, residences, potable water and electricity
